    Dedication

This book is first and foremost dedicated to God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Without them I am nothing and could not have accomplished any of this.

Secondly, it is dedicated to my Pastors and my Church family at Grace Christian Center also known as The Miracle Church.

I thank God for great pastors, who know how to pray, preach the Word of God, correct, instruct, and flow with the Spirit of God in everything they do. They are a blessing and I will always give them the honor they deserve for giving their lives to serve God.

Without the teaching, they have given me, the chance to grow, and the Church that supports me I would not have matured to the place in my Christian walk that I am. I would not have been to the place in which I could have accomplished the task of completing this book, let alone be positioned where I am in my current life right now.

Thirdly, this book is dedicated to my natural Mother, Father and all my Family.

No matter the ups and downs and differences we have, we always seem to come back together.

We are a strong family with a strong bond. The family is a great representation to anyone of how marriage can and does work. We have some, such as my Mother and Father who are celebrating 40 years of marriage.

That is a true blessing of God to stay together for that length of time and be successful. My deepest desire is all families stay together and make something to last. Having a love so beautiful that people truly desire to have the same.

Lastly, this book is dedicated to my Grandfather Matthew Lewis. This is done in memory of him as he passed on to be with the Lord on Feb 14, 2009. He was 98 years old and lived a life as a man who loved God. Through him I got my first experience of what a person who lives for God can be blessed beyond measure. I thank him for that and will always remember him for that.

    My Salvation Story

Growing up, my parents made sure that I was in church every Sunday. No matter rain or shine, my two brothers and I had to go to the service. My dad over the years went from being a deacon to being member of the choir. It was not hard to pick out my dad in the choir we were the only African American family in a predominantly white church. My dad has a loud singing voice, is 6’3 in height and easy to notice. The church was small in member size maybe 100 people. This was the normal size for a church in the town I grew up in. the town I grew up in was aptly named Niceville. It was a small town in Florida and most people ask, Is everyone nice there? I would have to say that most people have good southern hospitality there. I had a good time growing up there.

Sitting in church every Sunday, the pastor would start to preach and about 2 minutes into the sermon, I would be lost. I got to doodling on the church program a lot because I did not understand what the pastor was talking about. I had been baptized and my parents figured I was saved but I had never really decided. I did not even know who Jesus was as the pastor delivered his sermon. I did have a good idea that God existed somewhere up above. I would pray sometimes and just hope that God would hear my prayer. The older I grew, the more I would try to avoid going to church. I would make up all sorts of excuses why not to go. Every now and then, I would have a conversation with God while doing my chores, complaining about certain things and wondering why my life is not going as good as this person or that person. I went through all my teenage years but never sat down and truly accepted Jesus.

Eventually I went to college at 17 because my birthday comes late in the year. I was finally free, no more chores and no more sitting through church. I was finally able to strike out on my
