About this ebook

Lieutenant Alexander Colton and February Owens were high school sweethearts. Everyone in their small town knew from the moment they met they were meant for each other. But something happened and Feb broke Colt’s heart then she turned wild and tragedy struck. Colt meted out revenge against the man who brought Feb low but even though Colt risked it all for her, Feb turned her back on him and left town.

Fifteen years later, Feb comes back to help run the family bar. But there’s so much water under the bridge separating her and Colt everyone knows they’ll never get back together.

Until someone starts hacking up people in Feb’s life. Colt is still Colt and Feb is still Feb so the town watches as Colt goes all out to find the murderer while trying to keep Feb safe.

As the bodies pile up, The Feds move in and a twisting, turning story unravels exposing a very sick man who has claimed numerous victims along the way, Feb and Colt battle their enduring attraction and the beautiful but lost history that weaves them together.

Kristen Ashley

Kristen Ashley grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana but has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.

That being said be prepared to want to throw something at Colton because he can be infuriating at times. Feb also managed to make me grrrrrr but I liked them together.Audio ThoughtsNarrated By Liz Thompson / Length: 18 hrs and 15 minsJust skip the audiobook y'all! It was really bad both in voice and pacing. I have a pretty high tolerance for character voices but this one just missed the mark.Part of my Read It, Rate It, File It, DONE! Reviews

This is my first Kristen Ashley book and I am surprise by what a good read it was, only took me a little over a day to read this. I am glad I gave this author a try because I have been hearing so many great things about her and just never got around to reading one of her books. I'm really glad I started this book this summer because I still have 2 months left of summer break so I'm going to be reading more of her books. I love For You and thought it was a great introduction to Kristen Ashley books. I love the main characters she created both Colt and Feb were strong and so likeable you cannot help but root for them to work out their problems and get back together. Even the secondary characters were great and believeable especially Colt's mother Mary. I love how she was written and how at the end you could tell she wants to be a part of her son's life.Recommendation - YES from a new fan of Kristen Ashley

An emotional ride from beginning to end. Another fantastical work by Kristen Ashley and it left me an emotional pile of goo by the time I ended it. Compeling characters, amazing story plot that just left you wanting to know more and wishing for an epilogue. Amazing.

Inseparable in high school, Alec Colton and Feb Owens were destined for each other. Then a series of devastating events split them apart and they went their separate ways. Back in town after 15 long years, Feb and Colt keep their distance until someone begins targeting the people in Feb's life and she naturally turns to Colt for help. As the number of victims increases, Feb and Colt will have to put their differences aside to stop a sick and twisted madman from continuing his killing spree.

Kristen Ashley has become a go to author for me. Unfortunately, this is the weakest of her books mainly due to the complete idiocy of Feb and Colt's inane choices over the years.

It is always irritating when characters spend years apart because of a stupid misunderstanding and inability to communicate. Moreover, although Colt does not fall into the alpha asshole category like many of Ashley's heroes, Feb is definitely the most whiny of her heroines, and her "woe is me" attitude is quite off-putting.

Another turn off is the fact that despite being the love of each other's lives, Feb and Colt's first times were with other people. While it is understandable that they would have other lovers over the years they were apart, it is not necessary to include so many of them into the storyline as it inevitably detracts from the romance.

Finally, the unappealing romance makes it particularly difficult to wade through Ashley's usual long ass descriptions of anything and everything.

In sum, not a stellar offering from Ashley's pen and I would not recommend it for first time readers of her books.

This was a tense book for me to get through. I really enjoyed it but the tension was way more than I'm use to from Kristen Ashley.

And I like that Feb and Alec/Colt were older than the usual age of Romance characters.

Ridiculously addictive to read, despite editing errrors, hero who occasionally needed a boot in the ass and plenty of suspension of disbelief required of the reader. Liked it lots.

This was the first eBook I've ever read, part of my treadmill experiment (i.e., if I only read this book when I'm on the treadmill, does it actually help me exercise more?) -- it passed with flying colors. And now my eBook standard is, basically, anything that motivates me to use the treadmill more gets an automatic 4. This one took it up a notch to a 4.5. NOTE: This review contains spoilers. Some of the things that stood out for me were how mature the relationship between Feb and Colt seemed. There were believable reasons for why Feb and Colt broke up years before, a reason why they avoided each other over two decades later, and a reason why they came together again. Once they were together, there wasn't the typical misunderstanding scenario that broke them up just to create the drama. (That, of course, was more than provided for by the stalker storyline.) Not only that, when Colt's ex-wife appeared on his doorstep, the first thing he did the moment she left was to call Feb so that word wouldn't get back to her before he could explain. Huh. There's a good idea (that's not carried through by 99% of the characters in romance/chick lit novels). I was also beyond happy with the way the ending played out -- an actual satisfying wrapping up of the Feb and Colt romance. One that involved their family and friends, but also gave us the chance to fully enjoy the HEA. I loved Colt - possibly one of my favorite Alphas in everything I've read so far, particularly in how up front he was about how much he cared for Feb. And I loved, loved, LOVED the family-centric nature of the book. The parents, the brother, the in-laws, the friends... They were all wonderful characters creating a fantastic web of love and support for both Feb and Colt. Oh, right, and the thriller/suspense part was great as well. There weren't too many weaknesses -- just a few places that felt a little bit too plodding and what felt like a missing scene at the end. Otherwise, this would have been 5 stars for me.

This story was amazing , watching them come back together after 22 yrs of being apart and dealing with everything mixed in between while doing it . Intense, heat , twists, turns, beautiful emotions all wrapped into one book .. I LOVED IT ALL ...

"For the first time in twenty-two years after the jaw tilt, Feb didn’t take her eyes off him. And for the first time in twenty-two years, he gave her a smile.

Alec(Colton) OMG swoon , make your heart stop when he comes into the bar .... sexy , hot , protective total alpha Male . I love how he stepped right up to protect Feb even though they had a past that was not the best in the beginning .

“Like it right now or not, Feb, couple days ago, you gave yourself back to me. You think I’m lettin’ that go, think again because, baby, you’re fucking wrong.”

Feb was amazing , keeping it all together as best she could with all that was going on around her . she knew what was going on and she wanted to live her life the way she wanted , after losing 22 yrs without what she wanted .

I loved how the whole damn town was in this book from beginning to end . It was another of the best of KA to write and include everyone throughout the whole dang book ...

In some ways this was frustrating in that so much time was wasted due to one conversation not taking place. Still... that's what created the tension to make this a story to be told rather than nothing happening. It was still annoying in some ways though.

I'll admit that when I was initially reading this I didn't really have much sympathy for either of the protagonists. They were both so righteous in their stands. They eventually did grow on me a bit as events started coming to a head.

I suspect this won't be one of my favourite KA series. I'll still read then all but ?if they'll becomre rereads.
