      1. Introduction

      When I was younger, I was a chronic sufferer of painful plantars warts. I was a runner who used public showers often at my local YWCA and in gyms, a likely cause for infection as you'll read.

      I also didn't realize that the virus, the human papillomavirus (HPV) was the cause of my plantars warts. I always associated the human papillomavirus with sexually transmitted diseases and the cause of cervical cancer in women but never my warts on my feet or hands.

      My ignorance fueled my curiosity and I began to ask my doctor questions and started reading a hefty dose of research.

      As a former chronic wart sufferer, I commonly searched for home remedies instead of utilizing the painful and expensive treatments like cryotherapy (freezing) of my warts at the doctors office and burning myself with using over-the-counter acid treatments that seemed more painful than having the wart itself.

      The goal of this book was to get to the bottom of some of the home remedies
