Written in an informal, light-hearted tone, this book's easy-to-read, no-nonsense instructions can be followed by people (especially men) who have little experience in the kitchen.
In addition to full meals, the book offers suggestions for easily made snacks, side dishes, lunches for work, beverages and desserts. Suggested entrees include "Shrimpy 'Dillas," "'Breaded' Baked Beans" and "Open-Faced Cheeseburger."

Purpose of this Book
I do not consider this a cookbook. To me, a cookbook has detailed directions calling for precise amounts of many ingredients (many of which you could leave out and not really miss). They make everything too complicated, when most of the time you just want to make yourself something to eat as quickly and easily as possible.
I think of this as more a kitchen survival guide for guys who are busy, who never got much food-preparation experience as kids, and who–for any number of happy or sad reasons–need to cook for themselves.
Yes, you can buy a fancy cookbook and follow the multi-step directions to prepare gourmet meals for yourself, but let’s face it, us guys don’t always care. We want to get something to eat and get out of the house to do something more fun.
Many guys take the easy solutions–buying food at fast food restaurants, or subsisting on packaged microwave meals. Certainly those options are nice sometimes, but both can run into money, and may not always be healthy options.
It’s not all that hard to prepare meals yourself, using ingredients from the supermarket, and it can save you a bundle of money. As an added advantage, you can prepare your food exactly the way you like it.
The downside of making your own meals is that it results in pots and dishes that need to be washed. However, in this book, I provide many short-cuts and tips that will keep the amount of effort you spend cleaning up to an absolute minimum! So you’ll still have plenty of time for all the other important stuff you want to do.
My hope is that, once you find out that cooking for yourself is not all that hard, that you will take it a step further and add your own variations to the ideas in this book. In time, you will probably come up with your own quick and easy creations.
One caution: eating undercooked food can make you sick. The approximate cooking times in this book should be used as general guidelines. Always make sure
