It is more likely you are thinking about starting a small business, not a big one. You need to know the truth about what it takes to start your own business and what it will take to keep it going. I will ask you real questions. Questions that may cause you to stop with your idea. I will present information your friends and relatives won't discuss with you because the want to encourage you, and don't want to hurt your feelings. I won't tell you what businesses will be successful, or fail. I will give you some tools to evaluate your business ideas and make your own decisions. If I help you decide not to proceed, and you don't loose your life savings, and your family, my purpose will be served. If you proceed and are successful, that will be fantastic. But you decide what you think is the best path for you. I won't tell you what you may want to hear, I will tell you what you need to know.

      Introduction

      I am not going to fill this book with pages of gibberish to make you feel you got your money's worth. This is a short book, few pages, many thoughts.

      The question is not:

      "How do I start my own business?

      The real question is :

      Should I start my own business.

      I would prefer to have you contact me and tell me Bob, after reading your information, I decided not to start my own business, versus, Bob, I never read your book, wish I had, lost all my money!

      This is not a book of Ideas for knew businesses. You can find hundreds of them on the web. This is a real, down to earth book, that may discourage you from starting your own business, and if that is the case, I will have done you a service.

      But, if you decide you have a product or service you think will sell, then I also provide some good information that will help you get your project off the ground

      You may have a product or service that is not unique, but the other people in your town are just not doing the best job they can do, or can be done.

      Find the thing nobody else wants to do, and do that thing.

      Sell a great product or service, people will beat a path to your door. Provide top notch customer service and support. Treat people as you want to be treated when you are the customer.
