Then an angel of the Lord stood before them and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, do not be afraid, for see I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people. To you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord.” Luke2:6-11 Christ the Lord has been anointed as the Messiah of God and the Lord who rules over his people.
“When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, let us go now to Bethlehem and see this thing that has taken place, which the Lord has made known to us.” So they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, the child lying in the manger. When they saw this, they made known what had been told them about this child; and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds told them. The Shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.” Luke 2:15-20. Christ was born in a manger, where animals were kept. The manger was probably a cave and the manger a feeding trough for animals. A creator came to his own creations.

The Geneaology Of Jesus Christ The Messiah

The Scripture stated in the Gospel of Matthew clearly and affirmed that Jesus is God’s Anointed One. He is anointed with the power of the Holy Spirit (Isaiah 61:1, Luke 4:18, John 3:34, Acts 10:38). Christ was anointed as a prophet to bring knowledge and truth (Deuteronomy 18:15) of God the Father into the world as a priest to offer the sacrifice and cancel the guilt of humanity (Psalm 110:4, Hebrews 10:10-14) and as a King to rule, guide and establish the Kingdom of God’s righteousness on this Earth (Zechariah 9:9). The Scripture in the Book of Matthew also establishes that Jesus Christ the anointed one. He was legally a descendant of David by tracing the genealogy of Joseph, who was from the house of David. Even though Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit, He was still formally registered as Joseph’s Son and legally an earthly Son of David.

The Book of Luke traces the lineage of Jesus through males in Mary’s line of lineage. Luke stresses that Jesus is the flesh and blood of Mary and therefore, He is like one of us (Romans 1:3). Therefore, both gospel writers of those days affirmed that both Jesus legal and biological right to the Messiah-ship. Prophet Isaiah in the Old Testament and Matthew in the New Testament ascribed the virginity of Mary mother of Jesus. The biblical revelation of Jesus’ conception and birth is commonly opposed by those liberal scholars and some false religions such as cults. But the revelation in Matthew One and Luke One are clear and unequivocal when the Angel Gabriel appeared to Mary and said, "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Emmanuel which means, God with us (Matthew 1:23). The importance of the virgin birth cannot be over emphasized. In order for our Redeemer to qualify to pay for our sins and bring salvation, he must be in one person, fully human, sinless and fully divine (Hebrews 7:25-26).

The virgin birth of Mary satisfies all these three requirements. The only way Jesus could be born a human being was to be born of a woman; the only way Jesus could be sinless was to be conceived by the Holy Spirit (Matthew 1:20, Hebrews 4:15). The only way Christ could be divine was to have God as His Father. Therefore, His conception was not by natural, but by supernatural means through the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy One to be born will be called the Son of God (Luke 1:35).

According to the Angel Gabriel’s announcement, Jesus Christ is revealed to us as one divine person with two different natures: divine and sinless human being. In living on Earth suffering as a human person just like us, Jesus Christ, sympathizes with our infirmities, our weakness, our troubles, and our disappointments. As a divine Son of God, He has the power to deliver us from sin’s bondage and Satan’s power. As both divine and human, Christ qualifies to serve as a sacrifice for the sins of every people in the world; and as a high priest, Christ has the power to intercede for all who come to God through Him.

After the announcement by Angel Gabriel, Mary submitted herself completely to God’s will and trusted Angel Gabriel’s message. Mary willingly accepted the honor and the reproach that being the mother of the Holy child of Bethlehem would bring. Our young women today in the church should follow Mary’s example in sexual purity, love for God, faith in His Word and a willingness to
