About this ebook
Finally, a source that the modern day actor can relate to has arrived. "The Official Monologue Guide to Securing Agents, Managers, and Roles” includes laugh out loud comedic monologues, thought provoking dramatic pieces, and revolutionary acting techniques to help the tenacious actor deliver a strong performance. The monologues included in this text cover all the necessities required to gain the attention of a casting agent or the eye of a talent representative. Each and every monologue is unique, deep, concise, contemporary, and most of all real! The characters you’ll find throughout “The Official Monologue Guide” can easily grace the screens of HBO, Nickelodeon, Lifetime, FOX, and NBC. There are fun, moving, and passionate pieces for actors of all ages within the pages of this book. From the woman who pleads to have her sick child examined by a doctor in “Uninsured” to a teenager who asks mommy for girl advice in “Help Please” - everyone is bound to have a monologue they can relate to and bring to life.
All the monologues found in “The Official Monologue Guide” are under two minutes. This allows for you to perform one dramatic and one comedic monologue during a five minute audition slot. The monologues were designed to be under two minutes each to allow the actor a buffer if he should slightly go over in one or both monologues. With the built-in buffer the actor should still be able to complete two monologues in a five minute span. If you utilize the tips and exercises provided in this book you are bound to make a remarkable impact on all those witnessing your artistry come to life. As an added bonus, a comprehensive list of 175 agents and managers has been included at the close of this book to aid you in your search for representation. As you will come to know, "The Official Monologue Guide to Securing Agents, Managers, and Roles” will become your acting coach, cheerleader, and support system while you hone your acting chops.

How Many
How many? Do you need to subtract or divide that number? I still have fingers left over after I count all the women I have been with. You used all your fingers, toes, and have to borrow some of my fingers and toes! What happened? Were you a wild sorority girl? Like, oh my gosh Becky, I am so going to bang him. Were you rebellious as a teenager and decided to do the whole football to team to show your parents that you wear the pants in the family or in your case don’t have to wear any pants at all. Okie dokie. Deep breaths. I love you. I just have to digest the fact that the love of my life, the apple of my eye, the future mother of my babies is a former hoe. We’re going to church tomorrow to get you sprinkled with some holy water. Matter of fact, just bring a swimsuit, we are going to need to baptize you in holy water to rid you of your many sins.
Brake!
You’re ready? Okay. Seat belt. Check. Mirrors. Check. No, no, sweetie, the radio is not on daddy’s check list. They’ll be none of that hip hop, pop pop, or doo wop coming out of these speakers. We have to be focused. Okay sweetie pie. Now, make sure your foot is firmly on the brake. It’s firm? Good. Now move the gearshift from park to drive. Slowly, slowly release your foot from the break when you are ready. Wait! Put the gearshift back in park. I almost forgot. Bow your head let’s pray. God, this is my child and I love her dearly. Please don’t let her kill us Lord. She watches these videos with people cruising with their seat back and music blasting and she thinks that’s how you’re supposed to drive. Please bless her
