      The Minimalist Cleaning Method Expanded Edition - Annie Jean Brewer

      When I wrote the original edition of The Minimalist Cleaning Method I looked at the list of supplies and thought that the list didn't look very minimal at all. As a result I continued the search for a simpler, more minimal home cleaning style.

      I have finally found it. I discovered a way to clean your home thoroughly using almost NO cleaners at all. This discovery created a new complication, however.

      The feedback I received from the first edition of this book told me loud and clear that you LOVED the original recipes. In fact, you asked for even more.

      I scratched my head over this dilemma for a while. How do I remain true to keeping this a book about how little money and time one needs to clean when you want even MORE recipes -- and I’ve discovered a way to use LESS?

      Simple. I do both.

      I have reworked this book to give you the best of both worlds; not only have I expanded the cleaning recipes and methods to include even more tricks, I also included the incredible discovery that can make almost all of those recipes obsolete.

      Why? Well, some of you may not be ready for a new way to clean. Some of you may want to take your time and transition to the new method; others may just want to continue doing things the way you've always done them.

      ...And that's okay!

      Honestly it took me a while to fully embrace this new method of cleaning. I was a serious skeptic when I encountered this and it has taken me more time than I care to admit to actually believe the studies that proved that this new method cleans better, uses less chemicals and eliminates MORE germs and bacteria than traditional cleaning methods. Even to this day I find myself slipping back into the old habits--I keep a bottle full of vinegar at the ready for those days when I want to comfort clean.

      I also keep a bottle of Citrus Vinegar cleaner handy, but that's a recipe for another page...

      Just like the original Minimalist Cleaning Method, this book is a living example of how I clean my home today. You will find many of these tips, tricks and recipes in active use in my home on any given day of the week.

      I recommend easing into the new method that I present here; keep your faithful favorites around and available so that you can experiment with the new tips I’ve included here when you feel comfortable.

      Above all have fun with this! If you don’t like something, turn the page and try again. The cleaning police are NOT going to knock on your door to inspect your kitchen--or anything else, for that matter. If you are content with your home THAT is what is important here.

      Let's be honest--we all hate to clean our homes. We hate visitors seeing our mess even more so we try everything that comes down the pike or lands on the shelf looking for a miracle.

      That miracle is not going to happen.

      All of those magic potions and super-duper cleaning tools are not what makes your home clean: You are. In fact, you can get your home cleaner using a lot less stuff and spending a lot less money in the process.

      I started out trying to keep a clean home with three kids, two dogs and no help. In the time it took to get one area presentable five others would be trashed. Back in those days I couldn't decide whether I wanted to throw a temper tantrum or go to bed and cry.

      Once I discovered the Minimalist Cleaning Method the world just opened up. I could clean less, buy less cleaning products, spend less money and have more free time.

      This method isn't overly complicated but it works. Being a minimalist method it does not take detailed explanations so you will find no extraneous fluff within these pages. You will discover a lighthearted look at a method of cleaning so simple it is beyond compare.
