Introduction
Intended Violence. Aggression. Humiliation. Pain. Suffering. Fear. Complaints. Self-Pity. Seeking for professional help. Knowledge of the higher order. Healing. Comfort. Brilliant personality. Success. Confidence. Love…
Those professionals who work with victims of domestic intended violence very often feel at a loss. It is not easy to deal with sufferers. As a rule, when we meet people with problems, the first thing we tend to do is distance ourselves from them. It is quite natural. As professionals, we often experience disappointment after our sessions with victimized people. Their mentality is practically closed to healthy outcomes of wellness.
Why?
To answer this question we had analyzed hundreds of scientific research results publications. Our conclusion: "Victimhood is an international phenomenon and is the trap of the ego". Each victim is very hooked on her or his own story, and their ego loves the drama of it all! They manage to manipulate you by forcing you to play their own games, each time you offer them a healthy solution.
At the root of a victimized person, there lies a set of beliefs about self, others and the world. These limited unconscious beliefs affect their behavior, thoughts and feelings, and as the result, unhealthy beliefs determine their experience of the sufferer.
Victim mentality is seductive. It is spread over in all areas of their life, thus affecting relationships, career and health. Ill health is usually a manifestation of victimhood.
Irrelevant to culture, civilization or nationality most attitudes and states that often associate with victimhood include:
- blame
- self-pity,
- resentment
- self-righteous anger
- feeling unappreciated
- making others 'wrong'
- being a sufferer for a cause, etc.
There are two main constants, which fix victim mentality like cement. They are blame and self-pity.
Blame. Victims are always blaming someone for their pain and suffering.
Self-pity.
