About this ebook
Taking the High Road is a humourous account of a young man's hitchhiking trip around Britian. He first goes to a Jazz festival in Somerset with a group of friends, in an old car driven by Steve. From there, accompanied by his best friend, David, they continue by hitchhiking to Land's End. The aim is to hitchhike from Land's End all the way to John O'Groats, the tip of Scotland, and back home to London; all in a week. They meet several interesting characters on the way, and learn something about themselves in the process. Set in the early 1960's, before motorways, the story covers a way of life that has all but disappeared.
The author has written a number of other humourous stories, some yet to be published.

If I could describe myself in one word I’d say ‘analyst’. I enjoy making sense of information in all walks of life. And what have I found? Well that’s for me to know and you to find out. As with all my short stories they are but a glimpse into the world and indeed the Universe that surrounds us.
