About this ebook
Three years ago Lew Fonseca quit his job as a process server with the State Attourney's Office in Cook County, Illinois, and drove his rattling Toyota south to escape the memories of his beloved late wife. Headed for Key West, the Toyota broke down in a Dairy Queen parking lot in Sarasota, Florida. Buoyed by the friendship of a few trustworthy souls, Lew settled there, making ends meet by doing some investigative work for local attourneys.
Now, Lew is hired by Carl Sebastian, one of Lew's lawyer's clients, to find his missing wife. Following up on a few leads, Lew finds himself being trailed by a mysterious burly man, and saddled with another missing person case -- this time a runaway teen. With the help of some friends, Lew seems to be getting closer and closer to Melanie -- but will he find her before the unthinkable happens?

Reviews for Vengeance

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The first Lew Fonesca Mystery. Kaminsky has created another very interesting and tormented lead character surrounded by many other strange and intriguing supporting characters. Lew, a process server who is good at finding people, is hired by a woman to find her teenage daughter. Fonesca finds her (Adele) and rescues her from an abusive father and life of prostitution.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5A Lew Fonesca novel. Typically quirky Kaminsky characters with a decent plot and clever dialogue. Kaminsky grows on you with each additional book, whether it's the dimunutive Lew Fonesca/Toby Peters protagonists or the one legged Russian inspector Rostnikov (?)
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Highly entertaining with local Sarasota flavor. well-written murder mystery and likeable protagonist (Lew Fonseca)
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This is my first book by this very talented writer. I can see why he he won many awards and had a successful career. Now I can stop being nice. This series stars a likable, pathetic, depressed, loner, loser of a man, who spends what change he finds on the sidewalk on a cheap shrink. She is wonderful unless you want results. He spends his off hours riding a bicycle (cars cost money) and brooding about his dead wife. After leaving the dump called Chicago he landed in Sarasota FL. He feels the town is just bad enough to match his slide to nothingness. Wow! He finds himself in danger but refuses take proper precautions. The thought of a gun makes his girl parts hurt. He will rely on strong women and tough men to do what a Chicago boy can't do for himself. That's just the first half of the book. In my quest to find another good thriller writer I will try an earlier book by this author. I'm not impressed with this later work. His writing style is very good.
