INTRODUCTION
It’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m excited for the opportunity to introduce myself and to be helping you throughout this fitness journey. I’m Lisa. I am a fitness enthusiast and a competitive Figure athlete. I am a Certified Fitness Nutritionist, as well as a Regional Director for Bodystrong DNA. I also hold a Bachelors Degree in Radiologic Medical Imaging. It is with this education and experience that I’m able to coach you how to gain your best six-pack.
With a healthy understanding of metabolism, training methods, supplementation, and the ability to put it all together, we will be addressing all of these areas under the same cover of this book. The body was designed to work as one whole unit by providing the appropriate nutrition and training, we will be able to get results in an expedient way for you. I can provide you with the knowledge and the plan. The only thing I need from you is the commitment and determination to get after it and pursue it.
It is my wish that you have the best success with this program within the 8-week period laid out for you within this book. I will have resources for you online to assist getting through the program, as well as follow-up options after your program is completed to keep you challenged and moving toward the next goal for you.
Throughout my career in Radiology, I have had the opportunity to see the population of people who are not in their best health. This factor is one of the major driving forces motivating me to make a difference with as many people as I possibly can.

THE CHALLENGE
You want to see your abs, and so do I. That being said, I have created a challenge for you to show me your abs. Everyone loves a little healthy competition; after all it is a great motivator. Right? I want to see your results from following this program. I am so confident that you are going to shed off your top layer and show me your six-pack!
So here’s the deal. You have 8 weeks of the challenge. Show me your best before and after pictures after following the nutrition and fitness plan from this book. Contestants can enter the competition by going to www.lisarooney.com. Here, you will be able to get weekly motivation, tips from me, and find out about the current reward. Just review the start and end dates of the current competition. Judging criteria and details are all listed on the website.

Everyone wants one … a six-pack that is. Why is that? In contemplating why a six-pack is so coveted, it really comes down to those who have a six-pack truly represent a level of fitness that most people only wish to achieve. There is hardly a better indicator in a level of fitness than one of being able to sport a rack of abs. Additionally, it is not just the vanity of wanting to looked ripped by beach season that motivates us to want a sixpack body. After all, baring a set of chiseled abs has its benefits for our overall health as well. Having a strong set of abdominals alludes to having a strengthened core. A strong core ads power to the moves you make with the rest of your body. It also promotes better posture and joint alignment and helps prevent injuries. Getting back to the reason you purchased this book … you will look amazing on the beach!
Shedding that top layer of fat has its own health perks as well. A big waistline puts you at increased risk for many health problems – diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, and stroke,
says Robert Eckel, MD and president of the American Heart Association. I don’t know about you, but reading those risks are enough to motivate me to get moving towards scaling off the top layer. In having a rack of abs to show off, it means that you have uncovered the top layer of fat enough to allow the underlying layer of muscle to shine through. That is what this book is about, teaching you how to shed the top layer of fat so that your six-pack will come out.
A lot of people go to the gym. A huge number of people follow fad diets. However, few people know how to put nutrition and training together to get the desired results. Some people hire trainers while thinking that one amazingly guided workout a week will fix it. Other people take every suggested trend, pill, herb or extract that is displayed on TV and in advertising while thinking that will fix it.
My approach is more lifestyle based. I do not want you to just have results today only to lose them tomorrow because you are not able to keep up with the course or plan that you set far yourself to follow. I am talking about creating something consistent in your life that you can live by. You deserve to be the healthiest, fittest, happiest you everyday. And, you deserve a six-pack body.
ABS FROM THE INSIDE OUT
I wish you could see the inside of you. Then again, maybe you would not want to. It definitely puts a different perspective on things! My primary career is in Radiology performing CT scans on people. Seeing the inside of people is one way that I have gained perspective in combining my two worlds of fitness and healthcare. So much of what I see on the inside of people for disease and conditions seem fairly preventable if people would just take better care of themselves. In being exposed to seeing the insides of people on a daily basis, I can truly attest that your body responds to how you treat it. It is revealing how much the body on the inside is reflective of the person on the outside.
