How to Use This Book

If you have never cast a spell before, start with the colors. All the self-help charts are at the end of the book. Determine what kind of spell you would like to cast. For example, you want to cast a love spell. If you look in the table of Color Magick, you will see that love involves the color pink. Look in the pink chapter and determine what spell suits your needs. If it says to perform this spell on a waxing Friday, you now know the moon phase. The time says to use the Venus hour. Look up the table of planetary hours. You see that means you can cast the spell on this particular Friday at the hours of 1 a.m., 8 a.m., 3 p.m., and 10 p.m.

The next thing to determine is the list of ingredients for the spell. Your local occult store should have the supplies for each of these oils, incenses, baths salts, herbs, and so on. You can always make your own incenses, oils, and such, but that’s a book in itself. Many of the formulas for the oils and incenses used in this book are included in the back. Herbs are usually easiest to find because they are more common now than ever before. Stores like Vitamin Cottage and Wild Oats carry most of the herbs. For the uncommon herbs, you will have to purchase them at the occult stores. If you do not have a magick store that carries the incenses, oils, or ingredients, you can purchase them from:

Mountain Gypsies will sell every incense, oil, and bath salt listed in this book. They are $8 each and most orders are filled within two weeks. Mountain Gypsies carries a few herbs, mostly the uncommon ones.

The Wiccan Vocabulary will help you decipher specific methods used when casting. For example, if the spell requires you to suffumigate parchment three times deosil, it is telling you to hold the paper over the smoke of the incense and rotate it three times clockwise so it can absorb the power of the incense.

All the charts you will need to cast your spells are included in the back of the book. The spells for the most part are easy and enjoyable to perform. Do not forget to invest your visionary skills and intense concentration when casting your magick.

And it’s just that easy….

Introduction

The properties of magick are important to understand and apply when you are casting. Everything connected to the spell has a purpose, including the time you cast, the rhythm of the incantation, and the ingredients used. Everything in the heavens and the earth has energy. When casting magick, you are manipulating this energy to move in a certain direction to obtain what you want. Yes, this is manipulation, but it does not mean that it is evil. Every person on earth has been given free will. This is one of the main differences between the Wiccan religion and other religions. We accept the fact that we have a brain, an opinion, and the desire to create what we want. Some people create drama and disaster, while others create harmony and bounty. We each retain free will in every decision we make. That also makes us responsible for what we do. You are contracting with the universe to own your successes as well as your failures.

There is one creed in magick that is an absolute: Harm none, and do as ye will.

There are seven laws of magick:

1. The law of perfect balance in your life implys that you should not be overly invested just one thing.

2. The law of maturity in your life requires the mind, heart, and soul to help you determine what is important.

3. The law of compassion enables you to feel, experience, and extend your concerns towards another person or animal.

4. The law of wisdom is the combination of knowledge, experience, clear sight, foresight, and discernment.

5. The law of self-discipline requires the ability to place priorities in proper order and have complete control of yourself.

6. The law of perseverance requires the patience, understanding, and fortitude to delve into life and experience it fully. Don’t give up.

7. The law of devotion enables you to embrace your craft and life purpose while honoring the Deities.

The seven laws of magick, when applied completely and correctly, will make you a powerful Witch or Warlock. Without the practice and commitment to the seven laws, the achievement process may taint the magick.

There are two deities that have the ultimate say in what you are doing: The God and the Goddess. Many Witches and Warlocks believe there are many Gods and Goddesses, but for the sake of simplicity, we will refer to one each. The God controls issues dealing with aggressiveness, war, money, food, and topics that require confrontation. The Goddess controls issues dealing with love, emotions, health, and topics that require understanding.

There are three phases of the God: the father, the son, and the holy spirit.

There are three phases of the Goddess: the maiden, the mother, and the crone.

When casting magick, it is absolutely important to keep a pure heart at all times. This will keep ego, evil, and confusion at bay. If you have a pure heart, accept and abide the laws of magick, and harm none, you can have just about anything you want.

The charts in the appendices will help you understand the controls of the universe. When everything is lined up for maximum magickal potency, the only thing that can stop you is the free will of the God and the Goddess. Keep in mind They are the ultimate power.

One final warning when casting: Please make sure you know exactly what you are asking for, because chances are you’re going to get it. Accept the consequences of everything you cast, and remember to use magick as your last resort.

The Witch’s Call

I call you now, Sisters of Night,

Winds are rising, brooms in flight.

I call you now, Brothers of Cloak,

Summon the Towers as we invoke.

A whispering voice echoes the chants,

And a thousand Witches return to dance.

Gathered among stray Witches found,

Encompassing the moon to draw it down.

Our forces joined and our hearts as one,

The magickal feast has just begun.

The power is rising in valleys and fields,

Harnessing the enchantment we easily wield.

From the mountains to the sea,

The universe exudes our energy.

The Witches spell now cast and spent,

The moon is drained without relent.

Return to home and hollowed ground,

For next time when the moon is round,

The Witches will whisper the tune of night,

Gather ye Witches, ‘tis time for flight!

Chapter 1

Spells That Are

WHITE

Call the Spirit to ease your pain,

A Witch’s request will never wane.

Pure love and truth will bare no lies,

Allow the pain to wither and die.

Casper Crossing

Magickal Intention: This is a spell to help a ghost cross over to the other side. This is a great spell to use when you know for a fact there is a spirit who remains in a specific dwelling and needs to be crossed, for the sake of the spirit and for the live inhabitants of the dwelling.

Time: Full Moon, Moon hour

Tools: Two large white candles, Holy Smoke oil, Angel Blessing incense, a scrying mirror, ritual salt, and pinches of the following herbs: spearmint, rosemary, marjoram, garlic powder, and orris root.

Instructions: Anoint the two candles with Holy Smoke oil. Light the candles and the incense. If the ghost is active in a specific house, perform this ritual in the heart of the activity area. If the ghost is someone that you know personally, then perform this ritual where you feel the strongest vibration. With mortar and pestle, grind together to a powdery substance: salt, spearmint, rosemary, marjoram, garlic powder, and orris root. When all the ingredients are completely ready, cast a magick circle. Call in the Four Towers to assist this spirit in crossing. Place the scrying mirror in the center of the circle. Place one of the two candles in the center of the mirror. The other candle should be placed in front of you. Sprinkle the herbs around the scrying mirror in a complete circle. Recite the incantation and wait for the ghost to come. Plead with this ghost to cross over to the other side. Assure this ghost that there is more danger in this dimension than in the one they are to cross over to. Be insistent. When you feel the ghost bending to your will, recite the incantation again. You will see the flame of the candle in the scrying mirror move vigorously when the ghost crosses over. Thank the angels and the Goddess and God for their gracious assistance. Open the circle.

Incantation:

Full Moon opens Heaven’s gate,

The Light and Angels illuminate.

Pathway opens to invite,

The wayward soul to unite.

Demons cannot touch you here,

Release your hold and your fear.

Angels lift this heavy soul,

Take the spirit and control.

Mighty Angels of the Towers,

I invoke Your mighty powers!

Bonds be lifted and release,

Take the spirit to find peace.

So Mote It Be.

Truth Serum

Magickal Intention: This is a ritual to generate truth and honesty to flow when communicating. This spell works particularly well with people in romantic relationships.

Time: Waning Wednesday, Mercury hour

Tools: One large white candle, Purity oil, Moonlight incense, small amounts of horehound herb, eyebright, one raw walnut without the shell, spearmint tea, water, and honey.

Instructions: Anoint the white candle with Purity oil. Light the candle and the incense. In an earthen type pot or teakettle, steep the herbs of horehound and eyebright. Add to the mixture a raw powdered walnut. Recite the incantation over the brew. Now add the spearmint tea. Sweeten with honey. Serve to the person with whom you would like to have direct and honest communication. While the tea is working on the inside of that person, the honesty will flow without hesitation. Be prepared to ask direct questions, as well as answer questions honestly. This brew works both ways. Do not use this spell if you are afraid to hear the truth or are unable to speak the truth.

Incantation:

Serum of Truth,

Honesty Brew.

Reveal the answers,

I ask of you.

Break the barriers,

Untie the knot.

Tell me the truth,

As I cast this lot.

So Mote It Be.

To Cleanse the Heart

Magickal Intention: This spell will help a person achieve purity of heart. The person using this spell needs to want to have a positive and clean outlook. People who have negative hearts tend to like their negativity. This is for those who truly want to change.

Time: Hare Moon, Sun hour

Tools: One large white candle, Lavender oil, Purity incense, one red apple sliced into eight sections with all of the seeds from the apple, and two cups of water.
