Taken by his parents to Australia with his two brothers at the age of five, he spent most of his misspent youth, as many Australian kids do, surfing and generally screwing around.
Then came marriage and fatherhood - not necessarily in that order - and the drudgery of working as a Communications and Computer Systems Analyst. However, the beach once again lured him away from work and at the tender age of 45 he retired to the beach to resume a life of ease, dividing his time between writing and fishing.
