Caged Birds Don’t Fly is inspired by his custodial journey in his early life, expressed by poetic means. Ashley hopes that this collection could be read to understand what living in prison is actually like minus the hard person persona it carries.
Ashley has left such lifestyle of consequence behind him and is moving forward in life. His writing and family have enabled him to do so.view less
