Her adoptive parents encouraged her in many ways despite her attempts to frustrate them, and she always considering writing......but not too seriously as it would interrupt her general enjoyment of life. In 1986 during a period of enlightenment, following a disastrous first marriage, she was drawn into a career in nursing. The NHS was never the same again.
However life itself had thrown a few spanners in the works, some of which may well be covered in an auto-biography. It will make for some very interesting reading, but meantime she has created the first in a series of humourous and informative travelogues.
Absent Voyagers is a tongue in cheek account of life aboard Cunard's Queen Elizabeth during her inaugural world voyage in 2011. It's aim is to inform and entertain the reader in a style that is uniquely her own. The reader will be drawn into, and become part of a observant and engaging narrative. Over 30 ports of call reveal themselves as do the melange of characters she encounters. Her husband, Tom, will probably earn your sympathy during this quirky and irreverent tale of 104 days travel. Tom and Marje had already enjoyed several other cruises and moved house equally frequently, so this is intertwined in the plot.
The follow up book, Restless Legs, shall be available later this year.view less
