Althea Barr was born in Sussex, England, but now lives in South Auckland with her husband, Arne. They have three married children, and six grandchildren. They run a Design & Print ...view moreAlthea Barr was born in Sussex, England, but now lives in South Auckland with her husband, Arne. They have three married children, and six grandchildren. They run a Design & Print business from their home, with their son David. Althea is a qualified proof reader and editor, office manager and former teacher. She has been writing since she was a child, and has self-published four collections of her poems. Her daughter Sarah Jane, a Graphic Designer based in Sydney, designed one of them; her younger daughter Lucy shared two exhibitions of photography and poetry with her in the Bay of Islands. In 2009 she won the Sunpenny Christian Short Story prize, and this is her first published novel. It is set in New Zealand.view less
