About this audiobook
She’s not looking for love…
Housekeeper-slash-entrepreneur Ella Bradley prides herself on being ready for anything. After all, with a father who died—and lied to her—and a stepmom and stepsister who despise her, she has no one else to depend on. But on the biggest night of her life, she’s unprepared to be trapped in an elevator with the man of her dreams.
He doesn’t mean to lie…
Wealthy prince-to-a-fortune Adrian Vassos wants nothing more than to shed his reputation as a party boy and prove that he is a savvy businessman. Even, a gentleman. But when he’s trapped with a woman who knows his reputation but not his face, he gives into the temptation to be someone else—and lies.
A disastrous beginning leads to a fresh start…
When serendipity brings them together again—this time to work off community service—can their combined sentences spark a new ending? Maybe…if Adrian’s lies don’t find him out. Again.
The magic of Deep Haven enchants in this modern-day Cinderella story.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Can’t Buy Me Love is book two in the Deep Haven Collection. This book is co-authored by Susan May Warren and Andrea Christenson. Ella is a housekeep that uses natural products she makes herself. She goes to a shareholders meeting to try to push her products and ends up meeting the owner’s wealthy playboy son, Adrian, who she has very little respect for. Once back in Deep Haven, she finds her landlord has changed the locks and ends up breaking into her own home, being charged, and given community service. With no place to live she moves to the Christenson family resort.Adrian goes to Deep Haven to work on building a resort and finds himself caught with a traffic ticket that goes bad. He ends up on community service. Needing a long term place to live while working on the resort, he finds himself at the Christenson family resort. He and Ella spend time together with their community service. This is a great story. I just love being able to “visit” old friends in Deep Haven and see how the characters’ lives have changed. I enjoyed the importance of family that Ella has as well as how she works to develop safe cleaning agents as a result of her mother’s death. It was fun to see how the two stepsisters felt about each other and their background that made them who they are. It was also interesting to see how Adrian and his brother dealt with business dealings so differently.I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Can’t Buy Me Love by Andrea Christenson and Susan May Warren mixes a modern-day Cinderella story with some unique plot turns, moderate character development, and a sweet romance. Ella and Adrian’s initial meeting snagged my attention and set the stage for much of this novel and its unusual predicaments. Christian fiction rarely harbors stories involving community service and this novel offered refreshingly original scenes. Having worked in the legal field, I found some of the legal procedures (or lack thereof) questionable, but I suspended my cynicism in favor of giving the story a chance. The creativity in Can’t Buy Me Love shined, but when I finished the final page, I wished the story had been deeper. Ella and Adrian’s personal issues linger through the story until they resolve quickly toward the end. I cheered when these two had their breakthrough moments, but longed to see the benefits/consequences play out. It felt very much like they grasped a truth, took an initial action on it, and then the story was over. Can’t Buy Me Love by Andrea Christenson and Susan May Warren lands as the second installment in the Deep Haven Collection series. While this novel integrates characters from Warren’s original Deep Haven series and Christianson Family series, Can’t Buy Me Love works perfectly fine as a stand-alone novel. I have read some of the original books, but not all, and I enjoyed catching cameos of prior characters. Fans of the original series will likely enjoy visiting Deep Haven with these new characters.Disclosure of Material Connection: I was provided a copy of this book by the author or publisher. All opinions in this review are my own.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5"The man was committing all sorts of crimes here. Thievery of her heart. Kidnapping of her common sense, and maybe even first-degree murder of her righteous anger."Such a delightful debut novel from Andrea Christenson. I'm a relative newbie to Deep Haven so it was a fun adventure meeting some of the characters from Susan May Warren's Deep Haven novels and her Christiansen Family novels and getting to know Ella and Adrian who are also relatively new to Deep Haven. Add in the premise of a Cinderella retelling and you have a perfect contemporary romance to snuggle up with. The writing flows smoothly, the plot moves at a great pace with tons of misunderstandings and hilarious scenes, the characters are lovable, and Ella and Adrian's faith journey is heart-warming. If you're looking for a sweet contemporary romance with all the feels, look no further.Creative, passionate, and determined Ella is our contemporary Cinderella, who is literally in the cleaning business and looking to change the world one cleaning solution at a time. Adrian is our Prince Charming, whose expansive family business builds hotels and water parks. When Adrian attempts to build one of their hotels in Deep Haven, his insecurity, past failures, and desperate need to succeed in this venture clashes soundly with Ella's focused passion to make the world safer by reducing chemicals introduced into the environment. Their unique jobs makes the story stand out in the sea of contemporary romance novels and I enjoyed learning about production of organic cleansers and the process of commercial development. Their friendship and blossoming romance is so lovely and sigh-inducing. I am totally loving this new Deep Haven Collection and can't wait for the third book in the series!I received the book from the publisher and also via JustRead Publicity Tours and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are solely my own.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Welcome back to Deep Haven! I’m so happy to be here again!CAN’T BUY ME LOVE is the second entry in the Deep Haven Collection from Sunrise Publishing. I reviewed the first book, STILL THE ONE, in January, and have been waiting not-so-patiently for CAN’T BUY ME LOVE. It will be released March 16, but lucky me, I got an advance copy!CAN’T BUY ME LOVE is an updated fairy tale, a Cinderella retelling, set in Deep Haven, on the shores of Lake Superior, in northern Minnesota.Ella Bradley moved to Deep Haven looking for a fresh start. She’s a housecleaner, soap maker, small business owner, and budding entrepreneur. She just needs to get her foot in the door with the Vassos hotel chain to make her pitch. She doesn’t expect to meet the playboy son of the founder. And he doesn’t mean to lie about who he is. Not exactly.CAN’T BUY ME LOVE has everything I love about the Deep Haven series. A town that treats everyone like family. (Well, except for Ella’s landlord, that is.) A gentle romance that grows organically. Chocolate chip cookies. A spiritual growth arc.The only sad thing now is waiting for book 3, CRAZY FOR YOU, out in May.I received a free copy of CAN’T BUY ME LOVE from the publisher. This did not induce me to review the book, favorably or not.
