About this audiobook

Vivacious and forthright, Lyla Taylor is honest, except when it comes to her family. It’s self-preservation, really; she doesn't want to give her judgmental mother any more ammunition than she already has. But there’s no lie that will cover up the fact that Lyla is attending her cousin’s Hawaiian destination wedding alone. Until she meets the recently single, straitlaced, and handsome stranger Daniel Dugray in the airport.

Since they both need a date to their Hawaiian wedding weekend, Lyla convinces Daniel they can be each other’s dates. Among all the secrets she keeps from her family, what’s one more? Tripping through bad weather, ex-lovers, and convincing their families they’ve known each other more than a few hours, Lyla and Daniel struggle to keep up the ruse. As their families pry into their fake love-life, Lyla and Daniel work to last out the weekend until they can part ways forever. At least that was the original plan. Of all the lies Lyla is keeping up, denying her growing feelings for Daniel is the one she needs to last.

Charming characters in a tropical getaway makes Lydia Westing’s The Date Swap a cozy read you can’t put down.

This is a fun, entertaining read. Daniel and Lyla are interesting, relatable, fun, entertaining, intriguing characters. I enjoyed their romance and the path it took to get them to their HEA. I loved that we got an epilogue and what it contained. The various secondary characters added to the fabric of the story and my enjoyment.

I enjoyed the audio version of this book and the narrator.

This would be a good one for younger romance enthusiasts to enjoy. It's implausible but definitely cute.

This was such a cute and sweet short romantic book.

Entertaining and engaging. The characters were funny and relatable. It would have gotten 5 stars if the plot had a little more weight.

Wow. This narrator is absolutely unbearable. It’s like she’s eating peanut butter or something… it’s too fast and there is zero distinction between any character. I couldn’t come close to finishing this on audio. Gonna have to do the physical book for this one.

Story was cute, simple, and short. However I wish the narrator would have made a distinction between the male and the female voice. It was hard to make out whose point of view each chapter was from since her voice never changed even the slightest.

Loved the book but the narrator just seemed as if she was talking in run-on sentences. It would have been a much better/fun audiobook if she would have changed voices to make it easier to follow the characters.

Cute, easy, quick read for when you need something light. Predictable in the good way.

Is it normal that your family never meets your partner you’ve been with for two years? Or your parents not having any clue about your school life or professional life? It was also quite confusing who was talking at a point unless a name was mentioned.

Lydia and Daniel were adorable. I loved this story…the plot was very exciting and the story was hilarious. Cute HEA.

Content: Clean, mild innuendo, mild language (One F* bomb)

A fun, but kind of rushed story. There were so many opportunities to create conflict and chaos, but the couple never gets caught by anyone or anything. Revealing their scheme to their families was done in a sentence or two and nothing changed because of it.

This was such a sweet, short book. I enjoyed the fake dating and the almost grumpy sunshine trope. Definitely recommend!

Cute story but the audiobook was tough to follow because both characters were read exactly the same.

Cute story but narration was too fast. Also alternate chapters were POV of girl then guy but voice tone didn’t change and no indication of whose POV it would be in the coming chapter.

Story was nice, not so plausible, but nice. One thing I did't like was that I couldn't distinguish when narrator read male, and when a female character... it was all the same!

A fun story. And The narrator was good, but this production was rushed. The reading was so hurried, and it was sometimes hard to distinguish between the male and the female characters.
I tried slowing the audio to 0.8, but then she sounded drugged.
