About this audiobook

Elena and Peter have known each other since childhood, but they grew up separated by a web of family secrets. Elena knows they can never have a future together unless she can prove to Peter what she has always known: That they are not, in fact, related. However, old secrets sometimes die along with people, and Elena has to struggle through stormy waters in an effort to discover the truth. Even when she uncovers the lies they both were told, it may be too late for her and Peter.

Iris Forester

Iris Forester is never happier than when she’s tossed everything aside to follow one of the story threads that cross her path. Might just be me, the ‘big question’ seemed to be dragged on for too long, I got bored though I did finish it

This book was sad. Some of it was very unexpected. It was put together very interestingly, in a way that made the reader want to continue reading.

Plot was good but the characters were awful. She seems to be so much in love with this guy who barely pays her any attention and is nowhere to be found when she goes through life changing events. Narrator was very monotone as well

There should have been more tension when Elena discovered that Peter was indeed not a blood relation. The fact that he was about to leave with his fiancé to elope and so easily cast her aside was very disappointing. I could not cheer for Peter or Elena.

Awkward ending, expected of sorts yet still very very awkward

First off I don’t like it when cover is not anything like the characters. The book was predictable. I knew right from the beginning what the plot would be and who was who. The removal of her exboyfriend from the story was anticlimactic and basically verified he didn’t need to be in there to begin with. Story was dull and reader also.

This book was horrible. The writing was fine, but the storyline was gross. I don't care that they ended up not being related, it was still gross.

Did no one else find this disturbing? Spoiler alert.
Maybe they aren’t related by blood but they were raised together for a good part of their childhood. Quite frankly I was really pushing for them to NOT end up together which I don’t think I’ve ever done in a book before. I only didn’t give it one star because I don’t think the actual writing is bad but this storyline is just really disturbing to me. Not okay.

Storyline felt very disjointed. Writing had an odd cadence. Characters and plot were undeveloped. Entire story felt very incestuous and uncomfortable.
