About this audiobook

"

For reclusive germophobe, Frank Talbot, dealing with his crippling fear of contamination and germs has always been a challenge, but now he may have no choice.

After a mysterious outbreak of a highly lethal virus ravages the globe and hundreds succumb to the contagious illness, the U.S government instigates a cordon sanitaire in major cities to contain it from spreading rapidly around the nation.

At the onset of the epidemic, his ex-wife, Kate, an epidemiologist for the CDC, warns Frank and their daughter, Ella, to prepare for the worst. The only hope of survival is retreating to their cottage on one of the isolated islands in the St. Lawrence River.

Desperation breeds anxiety. Their survival depends on fighting back and they're determined to survive.

Loved the narration. Brilliant story, totally full bodied and not afraid to to show true humanity both at it's best and worst. This is an audio I will listen to again.

This is a very amazing story and considering it was written in 2016 it’s almost uncanny how it fits into our current C-19 reality.

Yet another dreadful iteration Of the tired old theme a brave good guy our gal goes up against oh so starkly drawn cardboard character psychopaths. I like to listen to post apocalyptic novels while cleaning house are doing other tedious chores they can move along quickly and I ‘ve loved the genre since the days of Canticle for Leibowitz. But alas at least what scribd offers is so far all dreck. No intelligence no real consideration of how people would function should society breakdown. At least this one didn't have people eating each other though they came close! And I will that is a relief over the last one I tried to listen to ssince in that one the author had them eating people in the first day or two of the outbreak like when there's all kinds of food still in the supermarkets and in homes people just suddenly get a taste for eating humans! It is much better that these authors make their living doing this rather than producing poisonous pesticides deadly drugs, engaging human trafficking etcetera etcetera. And in order for them to actually make a living somebody has to read these and pay for them. I inadvertently do since I subcribe ScrIbd . But thankfully that doesn't mean I have to torture myself with actually listening to this pu;p Since I wanted to write one last review before I give up on finding a plausable half intelligent take on life after collapse I'm taking This pulp Seriously I actually did listen to most of this though I had to skip ahead I'm some of those descriptions of the horrible things that Chester ect. do .So disappointing such a lack of imagination if you like shoot em ups with no character development and a really bleak view of humanity you'll love this book because of course the good guys………

It was okay. I hope the writer keeps writing. Just seemed lacking in logical characters. Some can be crazy and stupid all the time but this many?
