    Andrew L. Whitehead (PhD, Baylor University) is associate professor of sociology at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, where he codirects the Association of Religion Data Archives at the Center for the Study of Religion and American Culture. He is the coauthor of Taking America Back for God: Christian Nationalism in the United States, which won the 2021 Distinguished Book Award from the Society for the Scientific Study of Religion. Whitehead has written for the Washington Post, NBC News, Time, and Religion News Service and speaks frequently about Christian nationalism.

      This is an important book.
      It is very thorough and analytical and unbiased.
      Christian Nationalism is a very threatening reality to the church in America, we should be open and willing to receive this constructive criticism.

      Erroneous Mythical account by misunderstanding history. The Founding Fathers were of different faiths and philosophies.
      No country is on earth to defend God.
      You defend God by defending the natural world, not destroy it.

      Christian nationalism ?! How could that go wrong ?

      The premise that we are somehow not already a country of christian nationalists is absurd to begin with. From the Dulles brothers and the cold war onward to BlackRock crusades, we are deeply invested in christian holy war. It is the American essence. And it sucks.

      Written by an incredibly bigoted and ignorant author. Not for a second did he even begin to understand his topic. He didn't even try. Biased straight out of the gate. This author contributes to the division that plagues the world.
