About

Mindset: The New Psychology of Success

by Carol Dweck

Mindset discusses the differences between people with a fixed mindset versus those with a growth mindset. Our mindset determines the way we deal with tough situations and setbacks as well as our willingness to deal with and improve ourselves. This book demonstrates how we can achieve our goals by changing our mindset.

What you’ll learn about in this book summary:

- The 2 primary types of mindsets and how they drive/influence your behavior

- How to cultivate a “growth mindset” to become more successful in life—both personally and professionally

- And much, much more

Original description: Mindset: The New Psychology of Success by Carol S. Dweck | Carol S. Dweck, Ph.D., discovered a simple but groundbreaking idea: the power of mindset. In Mindset, she shows how success in school, work, sports, the arts, and almost every area of human endeavor can be influenced by how we think about our talents and abilities. People with a fixed mindset—those who believe that abilities are static—are less likely to flourish than those with a growth mindset—those who believe that abilities can be developed. Mindset reveals how parents, teachers, leaders, and athletes can put this idea to use to foster achievement. Dweck introduces a phenomenon she calls false growth mindset and guides people toward adopting a deeper, truer growth mindset. She also expands the mindset concept beyond the individual, applying it to the cultures of groups and organizations. With the right mindset, you can motivate those you lead, teach, and love—to transform their lives and your own.

Better than the 1 hr summary. This one is more hopeful and less deterministic, and includes tips on how to develop a growth mindset. Also, the narrator’s voice/performance is more pleasant.

The biggest learning I had , I’ve been told that this person is a fix / growth mindset person, the books recommends that sometimes it okay to grow into growth mindset , like how we train muscles , I personally , will in turn won’t judge myself even if I caught myself in a fix mindset
