About this audiobook

"Heath Miller smoothly narrates this young adult fantasy...[He] ensures that listeners of all ages will thoroughly enjoy this audio experience." -- AudioFile Magazine

Writing as A. Deborah Baker, New York Times bestselling and award-winning author Seanan McGuire introduces readers to a world of talking trees and sarcastic owls, of dangerous mermaids and captivating queens in Over the Woodward Wall, an exceptional tale for listeners who are young at heart.

If you trust her you’ll never make it home…

Avery is an exceptional child. Everything he does is precise, from the way he washes his face in the morning, to the way he completes his homework – without complaint, without fuss, without prompt.

Zib is also an exceptional child, because all children are, in their own way. But where everything Avery does and is can be measured, nothing Zib does can possibly be predicted, except for the fact that she can always be relied upon to be unpredictable.

They live on the same street.
They live in different worlds.

On an unplanned detour from home to school one morning, Avery and Zib find themselves climbing over a stone wall into the Up and Under – an impossible land filled with mystery, adventure and the strangest creatures.

And they must find themselves and each other if they are to also find their way out and back to their own lives.

the actual book is very good but for some reason, the end of this audio book contains chapters from another book? and not even the beginning of another, once "over the Woodward wall" is finished the audiobook continues on to chapter 12 of some other book???? Why?

I loved this and am also here like those before me to report another book is seemingly added to the end of this one and is seemingly unrelated.

I loved everything about this. The adventure, the whimsy, the characters, the writing... This was 100% up my alley & I loved it so much. I will definitely be re-reading in the future. Portal fantasy for the win!

As I listened to it as an audiobook, I would like to especially note that Heath Miller’s narration was excellent. I will forever associate his voice with “The Boy Who Lost Fairyland” & so for him to do another book in the same genre? Brilliant. Couldn’t have asked for a better match.

Highly recommended, especially if you like Catherynne M. Valente’s “Fairyland” and/or Seanan McGuire’s other series “Wayward Children”.

This was really reminiscent to me of the Wayward Children series. It had the same whimsy, a fantasy land where children are turned into birds, in a way that reminded me of In an Absent Dream, which I loved. This felt like one my 8 year old would love too, so I'm planning to buy it after this library borrow.

The actual book is great! Now I have a better understanding of the references made in the book Middlegame!! Loved the story of improbable road and the crow girl!!
But as before me, I am reporting a second book's addition after the end of the original book! I listened for almost an hour hoping to find some connection And then came to read the reviews and found everyone mentioning the addition of a random book named - a brother betrayed ?
