Ridiculous! There are so many things wrong with this book including the narration. Don't waste your time.

Great book. Loved that it was long enough to not be finished so quickly.

This book was definitely captivating. I didn’t want to put it down. Michele Campbell is a brilliant author that always surprises me! I never know what to expect from her books. There was so much build up and suspense. I didn’t know who to believe and who to trust. A few of the plot twists, I kind of suspected right before it was revealed. But others, I definitely wasn’t expecting that.
This review is only 4 stars because I keep a bit let down by the epilogue. I’m not sure what exactly I wanted. But the book seemed to have a big boom and then fizzled out quickly.
Overall it was a really good book.

    Book review!

Although this book was given to me by St.Martin's Press 3 years ago, I stand by "better late than never!". Thank you to St. Martin's Press for the advanced reader's edition of Michelle Campbell's thriller in exchange for an honest review! ? ARCs hold a special place in my heart, reminding me of the power of sharing my love for books. And let me tell you, this Hampton-set novel was the perfect summer read! ☀️

Tabitha, a small-town waitress, gets swept into a world of danger, luxury, and endless lies when her past begins to catch up to her future. Not everything that glitters is gold! While the culprit may have been predictable, the twists and turns throughout the book kept me on the edge of my seat! ? Every detail created by Campbell masterfully intertwines and comes to light at the end, leaving no questions unanswered. Although the big reveal wasn't shocking, the big cast of characters made for an exciting read! ?️‍♀️

Definitely recommend bringing this one along on your next tropical vacation! ?

I've read a couple of other books by Michele Campbell so knew what to expect going in to this book - in short, expect the unexpected. Is the narrator reliable? Are things what they seem? Don't want to say too much here, don't want to give anything away. But bottom line, this was an enjoyable read that kept me guessing, every time I thought maybe I knew what was going on, something would make me question my theory. The characters weren't the most likeable, so folks who need to like the characters they read about may not find this to be their cup of tea. Fortunately that's not a requirement for me so I found it enjoyable - I listened to most of it (and read some with my eyes) and can recommend either version.
My thanks to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for providing a copy for an unbiased review.
