About this audiobook

To the outside world, Electra D'Aplièse seems to be the woman with everything: as one of the world's top models, she is beautiful, rich and famous.

Yet beneath the veneer, Electra's already tenuous control over her state of mind has been rocked by the death of her father, Pa Salt, the elusive billionaire who adopted his six daughters from across the globe. Struggling to cope, she turns to alcohol and drugs. As those around her fear for her health, Electra receives a letter from a complete stranger who claims to be her grandmother . . .

In 1939, Cecily Huntley-Morgan arrives in Kenya from New York to nurse a broken heart. Staying with her godmother, a member of the infamous Happy Valley set, on the shores of beautiful Lake Naivasha, she meets Bill Forsythe, a notorious bachelor and cattle farmer with close connections to the proud Maasai tribe. But after a shocking discovery and with war looming, Cecily has few options. Moving up into the Wanjohi Valley, she is isolated and alone. Until she meets a young woman in the woods and makes her a promise that will change the course of her life for ever. . . .

Sweeping from Manhattan to the magnificent wide-open plains of Africa, The Sun Sister is the sixth instalment in Lucinda Riley's multi-million selling epic series, The Seven Sisters.

I absolutely love The Seven Sisters and couldn't wait to hear all their stories, but this one was tough going for me personally, although Weruche Opia's voice is like silk and honey and I could listen to her forever. The story began okay (for me) but the further it went on, the more difficult I found it to continue. The characters felt believable and I found them likeable but it felt a bit like everything turned in continuous circles without much overall development. Probably just like real life, but I personally found it depressing.

Oh my God! The ending of this book is so stunning amazing and I enjoyed the whole journey of this book, and all the others before I can’t wait for the next one, so I’m starting immediately right now.

I have just ended listening to the 6th sister, Electra. Started with the 1st, Maia, around christmas and I have enjoyed it tremendously ... every narrating in perfect english with suitable and captivating dialects.
I am in awe over Lucindas astonishing way of deeply understanding us human creatures, tears have fallen, laughter and humour ...
If you can find the time ... listen to them all even if you, like me, have read them all.
Now I am going to read the 7th,Meropes book, and hope time passes quickly until it will be May 11th when Pa Salt's book is released. Thank you Lucinda?️????

I loved the first book of The Seven Sisters series, reading in order and am yearning to get to Pa Salt’s story to discover all the intersections of his life with those of the parent or parents of all the D’aplièse sisters and what brought them to Atlantis.
The research and historical facts of Ms Riley’s research and her use of real people from the onset of Maia leading us from Paris to Rio to Electra’s connection to the reality of Kenya’s Happy Valley factual personalities to Electra crossing paths with then Senator Obama, also of Kenyan heritage. I envy the researchers.
What was challenging for me was the voice of the narrator, Ms Opia; I could not wait for the book to end as I found it irritating, somewhat pretentious, just annoying. Drove me right up that proverbial wall and I ended up getting the PDF version of the book.
Love the story, however -- jumping right into the Missing Sister!!!!

I loved how real her story felt to me. And how everything even for her felt into place.

Can't wait to read the next book about the 7th sister.
