- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This was a good read. Loved the exploration of love and our ability to give it and/or receive it based on our individual or communal experiences.
My only question was about Ana’s ethnicity. Her father was from the US but her mother was from Nigeria. I questioned her ethnicity the whole book as I felt like it was left ambiguous. Was she biracial or was her mother Nigerian by nationality but ethnically white? ? we had so much of Luca’s background and features but her character was a mystery to me.
All in all, good audio for a day trip. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I really like all the books from this author. She manages to write awesome romcom! I am dying to read my next book by her
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This was a good book. But here's the thing: the female main character (FMC) constantly infantilizes herself while the Male main character talks about her like a project. It's infuriating beyond belief. I liked the academic plot but found the sentences over-flowery and unnecessary.
The romance plot was solid and I have always been drawn to professor-student relationships(please, don't fight me) and I picked this up with great anticipation. I was disappointed because there were approximately 5 steamy scenes.1 person found this helpful
