About this audiobook
“Spellbinding. Another outstanding novel by Kimberly Belle, masterfully written to lure you in and never let go.” — Samantha Downing, USA Today bestselling author of My Lovely Wife
When Charlotte married the wealthy widower Paul, it caused a ripple of gossip in their small lakeside town. They have a charmed life together, despite the cruel whispers about her humble past and his first marriage. But everything starts to unravel when she discovers a young woman’s body floating in the exact same spot where Paul’s first wife tragically drowned.
At first, it seems like a horrific coincidence, but the stranger in the lake is no stranger. Charlotte saw Paul talking to her the day before, even though Paul tells the police he’s never met the woman. His lie exposes cracks in their fragile new marriage, cracks Charlotte is determined to keep from breaking them in two.
As Charlotte uncovers dark mysteries about the man she married, she doesn’t know what to trust—her heart, which knows Paul to be a good man, or her growing suspicion that there’s something he’s hiding in the water.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Good plot, but I did not like the main character at all. I felt the author was a bit repetitive sometimes. I got so fed up with the main character that I could not bring myself to finish the last 2 chapters. I didn't care how her story ended once I found out about the other characters.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Ok read. I didn't really like Charlie. The story was ok.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really enjoyed this book. There were lots of unexpected twists and I didn't expect the ending. My kind of book ?
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I found the characters to hard to follow and keep straight
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I never would have guessed the ending…good plot..many twists and turns
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Stranger in the Lake was so beautifully written. The main character was strong, independent, well-adjusted, with baggage that she owned and dealt with so maturely. She was so fierce but was not at all annoying like you see in some novels about strong women. The story, itself, was fantastic, with twists and turns that were entirely plausible. I would definitely recommend this book!
