About this audiobook

‘Unbelievably great!!!! I loved this book.’ NetGalley reviewer, 5 stars

Louise Bridges has the perfect life.

A loving husband, Patrick. Two adorable children. A comfortable home.

So when PC Becca Holt arrives to break the news that Patrick has been killed in an accident, she thinks Louise’s perfect world is about to collapse around her.

But Louise doesn’t react in the way Becca would expect her to on hearing of her husband’s death. And there are only three plates set out for dinner, as if Louise already knew Patrick wouldn’t be home that night…

The more Becca digs, the more secrets she uncovers in the Bridges’ marriage – and the more she wonders just how far Louise would go to get what she wants…

Is Louise a loving wife – or a cold-hearted killer?

Not even the narration could save this one. Every part of this book desperately needed editing - from the extended breathy reading to the needless frivolous chapters about both main characters. Tropes about the beautiful and the not so beautiful drag on and there are excessive digs about the officer, Becca, ‘chomping’ on candy and donuts and milkshakes that are beyond cringeworthy and downright cruel.
There really isn’t one redeeming thing I can say about this book. Run!!!!!

I absolutely love Louise and wished I had been like her when my kids dad divorced me but he is married to a woman who has admitted to trying to poison her 3rd or 4th husband. He's her 5th and she is his 3rd wife. I live in hope.

The main character Louise rambled on so much and repeated so much of the same dialogue it was hard for me to finish listening.

This made the book a lot longer than it should’ve been.

    It was alright
I listened to the audio, and i think that was why I finished it. I could listen to it half heartedly while doing other things.
The story was okay but we already knew the end from the beginning and i wish there were more surprises

The characters were loathsome and others have noted the persistent fat shaming of the female investigator. Not many redeeming qualities to the plot or the clumsy writing, but it kept my attention.
