About this audiobook

Book 2: SEALs of Honor

Stumbling over a dead body is one hell of a way to start a vacation…

While growing up, Hawk was always the wild card, the one who couldn't sit still or find a place to belong. Becoming a SEAL gave him a niche and a purpose in the world like no other. Nevertheless, the wild man remains under the surface, waiting for the match to his flame. Ending up back home for a few days' R&R, Hawk notices a new, darker element has moved in next door--and, at least in part, it appears to involve a freckle-faced redhead from his past, the girl he never forgot.

Mia remembers her best friend's brother from her childhood only too well. What girl in her right mind could forget Hawk? As a boy, he'd been 24-7 fireworks, lighting up her life. Every encounter with him took her breath away and made her heart beat too fast. But Hawk, the man, home for a holiday, is harder, dangerous--and impossibly sexier than he'd been when she was just a star-struck kid longing to catch his eye.

Even as Mia is swept off her feet by her teenage-crush-turned-grownup-acute feelings for him, the town is hit by unprecedented violence…and Mia's smack-dab in the middle of the explosion.

Author

Dale Mayer

Dale Mayer is a USA Today bestselling author who writes for the young, the old and those in-between. Some of her books are hot, some are sweet. Some will keep you up at night with a light on to keep the boogie man away and some you'll want to cuddle close. She's long given up on trying to fit a specific genre. Instead she honors the stories that come to her - and some of them are crazy, break all the rules and cross multiple genres! And that's okay too. There is one guarantee with each book - it will be a great read - each and every time.

Why 1 Star? Because I couldn't give it -5 Stars.

I know that these stories are going to be more fluff than reality and that is fine with me. Unfortunately this story took TSTL to a whole new level.

Note: The first two items took it from a 4 Star to a 1 Star story for me.

    1. The h is captured a total of four times by the bad guys... three times in 24 hours.

    2. The H doesn't think about getting her protection after the first or second time that she is captured... Yet he is a Seal and must know that she is a target.

    3. One if the captors insinuates that he wants to sexually assault the h but the other draws the line at rape. They don't draw the line at extreme torture or murder... really?

I enjoyed the first story but with so many captures in a day I just couldn't let it go.

Not the best dialog although the story itself is decent.

Ummm... TRIGGERS: guns, assault, terrorists, hostage talking.

This was the most repetitive book I've ever read. The heroine just didn't hold save street smarts considering she was training to cave dive to save people. ??‍♀️ I mean for l how many times can one person be taken hostage in just a couple days time. ??‍♀️ Explain it to me... Please.. no imagination with a great topic of discussion..

A vast improvement over “Mason”, the first book in this series. The absence of pronunciation errors was a joy and there were significantly fewer abused words.

I could still do without the boring sex scenes, but I fast forward past them. Human sex is pretty predictable, especially in genre romances. Why not just acknowledge the fact and close the bedroom door on it? I suppose some people enjoy them so authors will continue to include them.

I applaud the improvement in both writing and narration.
