About this audiobook

Witty and charming, New York Times-bestselling author Kerstin Gier's contemporary young adult novel A Castle in the Clouds follows a girl as she navigates secrets, romance, and danger in an aging grand hotel.

Way up in the Swiss mountains, there's an old grand hotel steeped in tradition and faded splendor. Once a year, when the famous New Year's Eve Ball takes place and guests from all over the world arrive, excitement returns to the vast hallways.

Sophie, who works at the hotel as an intern, is busy making sure that everything goes according to plan. But unexpected problems keep arising, and some of the guests are not who they pretend to be. Very soon, Sophie finds herself right in the middle of a perilous adventure—and at risk of losing not only her job, but also her heart.

I want to like this book honestly I really tried. after put so many books down recently I want to finally enjoy some book. the promising in this got me but i got bored and didn't care any of it. They're too much rambling, too much unnecessary descriptions details. to top that Sophie was too childish, too naive and like to assuming things that didn't make sense. her investigation was really bad

.....spoiler......honestly she saw that guy what was his name? climb up the window and just trust him? ughh girl pls make it make sense.

it was really disturbing. I won't mind if the plot was predictable but in this, the protagonist has no clue at all. and the storyline are just bland and flat.

What an adventure! Sophie Spark works as a nanny in a very elite hotel that seems to be magical, unique and harboring secrets that have a lot to do with millionaire families, stolen jewelry and the tale of a thrillerite that might be true.

Fantastic book! It’s absolutely beautiful and transports you into the most magical snowy wintery world you can imagine. I felt like I was sitting inside a cozy snow globe the whole time.
Only thing that puzzles me is why the translator would’ve chosen to change the protagonists’ name from “Fanny” in the original version to “Sophie” in the translation ..?

I’m a huge Kerstin Gier fan but this just wasn’t all that I was expecting. The plot didn’t come until the last 5 chapters and Sophie’s love interest is a bore. Sophie is quite a passive character up until the end. I would have liked it if she was the one who figured the mystery out herself.

Fluffy and sweet; like cotten candy!!!
I don’t usually go for this kind of sweetness but the story, characters and world building gave me what I wanted; To get lost in the pages of a good book.
The setting… oh the setting. Its a perfect book to read on a cold winter day. Well it would have been if I waited long enough for winter to come. Nonetheless I enjoyed it immensely.

My new favorite book with a fun mystery and romance too.
