About this audiobook

Is it murder? Is someone playing mind games? Or is it both? The chilling answers are in this twisting novel of psychological suspense by the Amazon Charts bestselling author of Trespassing.

The apparent suicide of a beautiful aspiring law student unites two strangers, connected only by their tangled suspicions: that nothing about Margaux Stritch’s tragic end is what it looks like.

Firefighter Jessica Blythe is courageously making her mark in the male-dominated Chicago Fire Department while navigating a complicated relationship with a detective. A first responder to the crime scene, Jessica has a professional duty to Margaux. Then there’s Kirsten Holloway, a wife and mother pulling herself together after an emotional breakdown. But her husband’s infidelity has left her in a place full of mistrust and fear. Her dreaded curiosity about Margaux’s death has become very personal.

Two women are about to converge on a trail of blackmail, secrets, troubled pasts, and hidden shadows, where violence and desire entwine, unchecked. And they’re not the only ones stepping into the dark. Someone else is following. But is it to warn Jessica and Kirsten? Or to usher them into a nightmare?

Terrible. I’m not usually one to be so negative but this was really bad. I read trespassing from this author and it was decent but this one was a real flop

Difficult to listen to, the readers should just talk normal instead of trying hard to sound cool, drunk or whatever. They did the book an injustice

Had me hooked in the beginning, interesting plot. But by the middle I was starting to feel disappointed. It was hard to root for Margot in my opinion, the way she blindly loved that antagonist was almost unrealistic. As was the ending of the book. Some of the dialogue also fell flat for me- overly dramatic. BUT! The first half did reel me in, I enjoyed the development id Jessica and Decker’s relationship, as well as her and Jack’s. Also, the narrator was excellent. So its 3 stars- acceptable/decent.

Great story and writing…but completely feminist agenda shoved down your throat. I just want to be entertained, not preached at.

Excellent writing. Great story. I did think I had it figured out about midway, but then I wasn’t sure. My only wish is the whatever happened to Ian that wielded such influence could have been explored.

Wow! I found an amazing writer! Probably my new favorite. What an imagination and just goes to show with a little help, karma is a bitch.

I’m also giving props to the reader, which helped me enjoy the book as much as I did.
