      A favorite for sure! Love the characters! Love the animals! The parrot is the funniest secondary character, ever! Loved the audible version, the narrator was awesome!

      Yes Mary Jane Wells, I did enjoy the unabridged copy of the wall flower wager. ‘I’d sell my life for a penny’, that says it all. This book made me smile, laugh and hold back tears. Another great book by Tessa Dare. Loved it!

      This funny story made me laugh out loud, a lot. Penny is a gem with a heart of gold. The perfect foil for “The Duke of Ruin.”

      I adored this book! Such charming and adorable characters. The writing was very witty and the exchanges between the cast of characters was hilarious! Even the extensive cast of non-human characters were well developed. The main characters each suffered serious childhood trauma, but I thought it was handled with sensitivity and it was nice to see them find the courage to share and begin to heal. (Penny’s back story might be triggering for some readers.) Regardless, it was such a fun read! I laughed, cackled, and snorted my way through this entertaining read!

      I liked the bits of humor. I don't love the traumatic backstory for Penny. Female characters all too often written with a traumatic event as character development.
      Also she spends so much time trying to find new homes for her animals then after she gets in her big fight, basically abandons that.

      Aside from that it's a solid romance with a strongish plucky female character!

      So funny, touching and swoon worthy. I LOVE PENNY!! She’s so sweet, adorable and strong all at once. An extremely lovable heroine. Her chemistry with The Duke of Ruin is sooooo hot. His hardness matched her softness perfectly. I enjoyed their intimate moments VERY much. This was so much fun to listen to. Narrator did an excellent job 10/10.

      Uproariously funny! Made me laugh out loud so many times, while being a touching, sweet, sexy, sensitive story at the same time. Lady Penelope is so egregiously delectable, I think any duke would have to try very hard not to fall in love with her. And the Duke of Ruin definitely did try his hardest, but alas succumbed to all her feminine wiles. This story is fun and light, sweet and touching, and I dare you not to fall in love with both of the two main characters. The narration/reading is superb as well, the performance is inspired! Highly recommend, great work Tessa Dare! Thoroughly enjoyed this listen!

      I really enjoyed this book. Penny is a woman with no need of a man’s protection; she seeks only love for the independent, loving person that she is. Good light-hearted read. It flows easily, is lighthearted and fun.

      Be still my heart!! This book was so amazing that I had to buy the paperback edition also so I could reread some of the scenes over and over. I was constantly caught between laughter and swooning!

      Although I didn’t find the tale realistic, I quite enjoyed the love story. I thought the last several chapters were stellar plot development and couldn’t be more pleased with the conduct of Penny & Gabe. I also particularly enjoyed the competitive humor of Ash and Chase.

      This heroine is in my top ten all time HR favorites for her integrity and heart.
