A Forge of Valor is book #4 in Morgan Rice’s bestselling epic fantasy series Kings & Sorcerers (which begins with Rise of the Dragons)!

In A Forge of Valor, Kyra slowly returns from the verge of death, healed by Kyle’s love and mysterious power. As he sacrifices for her, she regains her strength—yet not without a price. She presses Alva for the secret of her lineage, and he finally reveals all about her mother. Given a chance to quest to the source of her power, Kyra must make a crucial choice: whether to complete her training or journey to help her father, who wallows in the capital dungeon, his execution pending.

Aidan, Motley at his side, also strives to rescue his father, trapped in the perilous capital, while in the far corner of the kingdom, Merk, amazed by what he discovers in the Tower of Ur, braces himself against a massive troll invasion. His Tower surrounded, he must fight alongside his fellow Watchers, to defend his nation’s most precious relic.

Dierdre finds herself facing a full-fledged Pandesian invasion in her embattled city of Ur. As her precious city is destroyed all around her, she has to decide whether to escape or to make a final, heroic stand. Alec, meanwhile, finds himself at sea with his cryptic newfound friend, sailing to a land he’s never been, one even more mysterious than his companion. It is here that, finally, he learns of his destiny—and of the last hope for Escalon.

With its strong atmosphere and complex characters, A Forge of Valor is a sweeping saga of knights and warriors, of kings and lords, of honor and valor, of magic, destiny, monsters and dragons. It is a story of love and broken hearts, of deception, ambition and betrayal. It is fantasy at its finest, inviting us into a world that will live with us forever, one that will appeal to all ages and genders.

Lazy writing, using the cheesiest formulas. This is writing to sell and appeal to the simple minded. I forgot that I wanted to drop this series after the last one!

Good story, poorly written, and Kyras martar like self infliction get s a bit much, but the story is good.
  • (2/5)
Great story but just like the prior books it’s poorly written: the characters are too similar and all have the same expressions. The problems are always solved by deus ex machina. And the constant repetition of „everything was going to change with this choice“ and „I knew i was going to die“ is starting to get annoying. But again the story is good

Good,I am excited to read the next. I just wish it wasn't so darn sad.

Another excellent story. this continuation of the series marks the moment Kyra begins to really unlock her potential.

This book desperately requires an editor. Everyone is 'finding a reason to live again' - multiple times a day it seems; no one can believe anything (x couldn't believe [what was happening]); twice in the same paragraph someone is saved 'by some grace of God'; etc. etc.
There's some issue with flat characters making odd decisions, but it would be forgivable if it wasn't written on such an Epic tone. Literally each step and thought is Epic, making everything that should be actually epic seem rather bland. Some honest proofreading and editing would really fix these issues. For someone who's top-seller on Amazon, you'd really expect that some decent proofreaders could be found.

As the series goes on it's getting more and more predictable. Inexplicably and suddenly happens everytime anything happens.... and I'm not sure if the author is purposely wanting me to hate the main character..... but I want to see her die after the consistent stupidity.

No Originality - same things happen over and over and over. No Plausibility - characters do the dumbest things over and over. Armies that just kill and destroy for no reason. Characters are all suicidal they can’t want to get themselves killed. It’s really awful. Why 2 stars - the story could be good but the details are ridiculous.
