Reviews for The Five Years Before You Retire

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Good ideas.
Easy read. Good overview. Unfortunately rapid changes in law make some of the advice less accurate, the main points are true. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The author covers a lot of information at a moderate level of detail. She demonstrates a broad spectrum of knowledge. I found the information useful even though I am more than five years away from retirement. Some information is simplistic but properly included to meet the needs of the uninformed. I enthusiastically recommend this book.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This book has some run-of-the-mill information in it (e.g., how is your social security benefit calculated? what are the different kinds of trusts?) Depending on how often the book is updated, it might be worth rereading once I really am 5 years from retirement. What I liked best about it was the checklist of things to do 5 years before, 4 years before, etc.
