About this audiobook
Whip-smart, hardworking, and on her way to an MBA, Chloe Mills has only one problem: her boss, Bennett Ryan. He’s exacting, blunt, inconsiderate—and completely irresistible. A Beautiful Bastard.
Bennett has returned to Chicago from France to take a vital role in his family’s massive media business. He never expected that the assistant who’d been helping him from abroad was the gorgeous, innocently provocative—completely infuriating—creature he now has to see every day. Despite the rumors, he’s never been one for a workplace hookup. But Chloe’s so tempting he’s willing to bend the rules—or outright smash them—if it means he can have her. All over the office
As their appetites for one another increase to a breaking point, Bennett and Chloe must decide exactly what they’re willing to lose in order to win each other.
Originally only available online as The Office by tby789—and garnering over 2 million reads on fanfiction sites—Beautiful Bastard has been extensively updated for re-release.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Well, this office romance dives straight into it.
I think chapter 3 literally has Bennett and Chloe going at it in the office, which I'm all for, like all for. But that is quick, especially since the only books I have read from Christina Lauren are the newer books and now I can see why so many people have said their writing is different.
I really enjoyed Bennett and Chloe. Their relationship becomes so sweet but still has that domineering boss/employee trope throughout and the steam is off the charts. Bennett becomes a real softy and I absolutely keel over for that, he is not scared of letting Chloe know how he feels and showing his emotions. It was swoon-worthy. The story definitely gets better as the book progresses and I am dying to carry on with the series.1 person found this helpful
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I usually love books by the Christina Lauren duo, but this book is awful. I'm 5 or 6 chapters in and no storyline at all, just sex scenes...I think I'm on the fourth or fifth one. I deleted it because I couldn't take it anymore. I'm not a prude, but it's just raunchy and uninteresting. I'm so disappointed as it's so far from what their books usually are. I hope it's the last one like that.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Said awww a lot and liked it. Sweet and what I like #smug
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Completely different from their newer work. A lot less plot and romance but the spice was still good.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I love the book and the story. I’ve read it before. But the audiobook quality is bad. You can hear the mic static noise when the narrator speaks. It’s really distracting.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Despite the spice, no substance. I couldn't finish; stopped after Chapter 2.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Love the characters
Love the Love story
Love the mention of Agent Provocateur and especially La Perla. I will say that the panty ripper has been done before though. Kristy Bromberg's Driven series. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Another great book by Christina Lauren. Would have loved the male role to be read by male narrator
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The writing is good actually for adult smut but the plot is quite cliche. But overall I like it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I have to agree there is ALOT of sex in this story but it works well for the relationship between these two and it almost seems necessary lol...Idk how else to put it honestly....but in this book it works! The beautiful bastard is obsessed with her body and can't stand it because he's never really had that issue before and he takes it out on her and treats her the way he does bc he can't understand why she gets to him the way she does but the relationship does sorta work the author in my opinion did a good job at turning lust into love with a natural sorta rhythm and I actually enjoyed it
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The storyline is pretty blunt, I can use more excitement The adult parts were kind of good.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I didn't like this one! There was no plot in there, just pointless sex.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I first read this as a fanfiction and I honestly didn't think I would Enjoy it as characters other than what I read it as, but I really enjoyed it and definitely continuing on with the series.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5These characters had no development or growth. It was just smut and arguing which can be fun for a little bit but not for 21 chapters.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Very steamy. I quite enjoyed this one. I did cringe a bit in the beginning about the whole boss cliche and the fact that she's so smart but risking it all for him, but pushed through and enjoyed it in the end.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Can I just say this book doesn't d*ck around? First chapter and BAM I'm hooked! I didn't know what I was missing. I've been hearing around this book for a while but I've skirted around it. Soooo satisfied that I finally got to read it! Will I read the next book? Hell yeah!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Good but way too long especially for alot of erotic little romance. Left some things to ne be desired the way it ended
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/50 substance. I listened to five chapters and is all just sex without a real plot of any kind. (I liked fifty shades) but this book is horrible. First audiobook I gave up on.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Had to force myself to finish this one. Shitty, annoying characters. Too much sex for a contemporary romance. They tried to make this girl a “strong female lead” but instead she looks stubborn and self righteous. Idk. I hated it lol
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I actually really loved this book, and saved all of her other audiobooks!
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Meh! Fue demasiado insta todo para mi gusto. No conecte con la historia.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Fun enough, and certainly took my mind off of things. However: why did every sex scene have to have panty-ripping in it? It got kind of weird.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I couldn’t get past chapter 4. Could have been a great book but the narrator ruined it for me. She doesn’t change her voice to differentiate between a male and female and at times I questioned who was talking and wasn’t sure she even was aware. Definitely a book I will read rather then listen to on my commute.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I didn’t like a female narrating both voices. It was difficult to distinguish between the characters sometimes. I also didn’t find either of the characters to be particularly appealing. I wish there had been some kindness that shine through earlier in the story.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5There are 10 books in the series. They’re very connected so must be listened to in correct order. The order can be found in website Book Series In Order .This remains,7 yrs later,my favorite rom com series. This series is why i switched from horror troupe to rom coms. Series is perfection both in the unfolding of story and the absolutely brilliant voice actors' performances.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Let me start by saying that Christina Lauren have become much better writers since this, their first effort. There is a lot wrong with this, but the biggest issue is that they made Bennett a giant asshole. No one loves a reformed rake more than me, but this was the jerky boss who was awful to everyone on the company, left people crying, saw assistants quit on day one. Anyone who finds that sexy has never had that boss. I have. Twice. Granted, neither was anything close to irresistibly sexy, but it would not have mattered if they were. Chloe was fantastic so it was impossible to cheer for her to hook up with the jerk. There were some other issues too, convenient events that were introduced and then swept away with a flick of the wrist, in order to move the story forward. I would point to the guy Bennett's parents tried to set Chloe up with, who seems delightful and really got the shaft. See also, Chloe's father who conveniently got sick (but then it was nothing at all) in order to get Chloe out of town for a period so Bennett could miss her. On the flip side, these women can write a hell of a sex scene. I could have done with less destruction to La Perla panties (I picked up a pair last time I was at the Atlanta store, and the were $150 -- I carefully put them back down.) but otherwise the hotness factor was there even though I actively disliked one of the participants -- that is some good steam. No need to read this one for the romance lovers, but if you are looking for some solid smut its worth a look.
