About this audiobook

Ex-model Paige McCarty is fed up with being just a pretty face. After her ex-husband’s gambling problem left her royally screwed and tragically shoeless, she started Fool Me Once Investigations with her best friends, Lorlei and Kennedy, to prevent other women from being similarly played and dismayed.

The job: act as bait for a cheating husband. The target: Matt Russo. The case should be as easy as getting a man’s attention—and Paige has never had trouble with that. The problem is Matt—in all his nerdy-hot glory—turns out to be not such a scumbag after all.

And when the case hits closer to home than Paige could ever have imagined—landing her in a face-off with the mob—she wonders if taking the job just to prove that she has a brain maybe wasn’t her best idea.

This second outing for the Fool Me Once team follows in the same fun, feisty footsteps as bestselling author Tara Sivec’s Shame on You.

In her spare time, Tara loves to dream about all of the baking she’ll do and naps she’ll take when she ever gets spare time.

Tara Sivec and Amy McFadden are two of my favorite addictions! I can't quit either of them!

This is such a cute read! I read it in almost one sitting... but then again, how can you not read Tara's stuff in one sitting. She gets you with the hook, then reels you in. If it's not drama, it's the hilarity.

This book has it all... Funny, quirky, a little mystery, love story and some action. What more could you ask for? The characters are a delight. The story-line is engaging. And a little plot twisting added to the mix makes this story another hit for Tara! How does she do it? She always has us coming back for more.

Although I put some pieces together early on... not sure if that's from my latest obsession of crime and mystery novels or if I am just that smart, but putting them together didn't take away from the journey of finding out I was correct. Well, the end result I was correct on, it's the in-between that was something else!

The relationship with Matt and Paige is something else. I almost cringed when there was that instant attraction/fascination between them. I don't usually like that in a story. However, it works for this story. That rarely happens in my eyes. Then the journey of finding out the truth and making it through the drama of those around them, makes it even more workable!

Hands off to Tara! I think no matter what you write, we will always be waiting for the next one! So, now I sit and wait for the next book in this series (along with others), as patiently as I possibly can!
