- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Well done. Very enjoyable. Onto the next book in this series.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This book is better than the second, almost as good as the first. There are some inconsistencies/incongruities, but if you've made it this far the story seems to rise above it. I was beginning to think (as I got about 85% of the way through this) that the story would end on a cliff hanger, with a fourth volume to come.I was right and wrong. The trilogy ends quite satisfactorily, and the ending is plausible and well conceived. It almost seems hurried, but by the time you get to 90% of the way through the book you realize there is nothing really left to do but end the story. It is to Jones' credit that he doesn't prolong things. The trilogy ends on an excellent note, and you could quit here.Author Jones does say at the end, however, that he is thinking of continuing the story; it wouldn't matter if you weren't interested in going on, as what is left would be sort of anti-climatic. At the same time, it might be interesting to see how the story develops from the ending given to Revelations. This may not be the best science-fiction story out there, but it is done well enough to warrant reading, as long as you can put up with contrivances and inconsistencies (and some just plain silliness).
