About this audiobook
In this vibrant debut novel from New York Times bestselling author Patti Callahan Henry, a happy wife and mother’s life is upended by the return of her first love.
Like most mothers, Amy Reynolds has anticipated the moment when her son brings home his first serious girlfriend. But she’s shocked to meet the girl’s father. Nick Lowry was the college boyfriend who captivated her heart and soul and then, without a word of explanation or warning, disappeared. She still wonders what took him away from her.
Amy’s marriage is satisfying, her teenage children thriving. She loves her beautifully restored home and her work teaching at the local college. She has long since buried her memories of Nick. But now that he is back in her life, she can’t help recalling the beach where they pledged their destinies together twenty years ago. She can’t help missing the young woman she was then, full of passion and promise. And she can’t help being tempted by the life she might have lived...might still live—even though making that choice would betray all she holds dear.

Reviews for Losing the Moon
59 ratings5 reviews
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5A story of first love compared to the irreplaceable value of a solid marriage and family.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5All the right parts are in the book but it is not very good. The characters all lack depth and come across as wooden, and the story is terribly predictable.
But this was the authors first book, so I plan to try one of the newer ones. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Two adults who were in love as young adults, are reunited when their college age children are dating. But they are both married. Unrequited love and its consequences as they both make big decisions.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Losing the moon by Patti Callahan HenryHave enjoyed the author's other works. This story starts out with Amy and Phil and they are traveling to visit their son at college and to meet his new girl and her parents.Amy meets her longtime lover-Nick but he's now married and has a daughter-who her son is in love with.Story goes to the past and their dating years and back to the present where we are able to learn about their connection.Things fall apart for all the familys and you wonder if they can ever get back to what they had. Like the parts about preserving the land and what is involved.Love what title stands for.I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5"Great characters..well written....keeps you wanting more...however would have loved a different ending..."
