About this audiobook

Glenn Beck, the New York Times bestselling author of The Great Reset, tackles some of our country’s biggest problems in this funny, outrageous, and entertaining book.

Glenn Beck believes that the reason why some of our biggest problems never seem to get fixed is simple: the solutions just aren’t very convenient. And as the host of a nationally syndicated radio show and a prime-time television show on CNN Headline News, Glenn Beck doesn’t care much about convenience; he cares about common sense.

Take the issue of poverty, for example. Over the last forty years, America’s poorest cities all had one simple thing in common, but politicians will never reveal what that is (or explain how easy it would be to change). Global warming is another issue that’s rife with lies and distortion. How many times have we heard that carbon dioxide is responsible for huge natural disasters that have killed millions of people? The truth is, it’s actually the other way around: as CO2 has increased, deaths from extreme weather have decreased. But that would never be shown in an Al Gore slide show.

Combining honesty with a biting sense of humor, An Inconvenient Book contains hundreds of these "why have I never heard that before?" types of facts that will leave readers wondering how political correctness, special interests, and outright stupidity have gotten us so far away from the common sense solutions this country was built on.

Foremost a funny book and had to keep a lid on laughing since I read it in the public library. Serious too. Agree wholeheartedly on the chapter regarding free speech and political correctness. Some of Beck's ideas on poverty in America are ones I've held myself after a trip to the Philippines in 1991. In those days only the rich had cars, and the people there were amazed to hear that it is possible to be poor in America and own a functioning car. I know, because I've been poor in America and drove a $700.00 car that did it's job. Believe it or not, I've never heard of the author before, except through this book that I found in the library. I'm guessing most readers before opening the book will already have their minds made up about the author.

A delight to read. Thank God there's still some intelligence out there. Thanks Glenn! If you like the show, and you haven't been sucked in by the nutcases who seem to be running our courts and controlling our governmental direction, then Beck will bless you.

What a complete waste of my 50 cents at the thrift store. I could feel myself becoming stupider with every sentence. It's a real shame that so many people give this sack of shit any credence whatsoever. glenn really needs to just stick to his radio show mocking women that have had miscarriages. He's much better at doing that. A real upstanding mormon. The only thing that saved this guy's career from the abysmal failure he was becoming was the fact that he morphed into a fear mongering super patriot post 9/11. If you find yourself becoming immersed in this trash go straight down to your local book store and buy Alexander Zaitchik's "Common Nonsense: Glenn Beck and the Triumph of Ignorance"

I listened to the abridge (I know!) audiobook. I think the full book would have been better. If you're a fan of Beck then you'll enjoy his narration of his own book.

I had seen Glen Beck?s name on LT so when we saw this audio book on sale we bought it to use for our trip up north this month. I discovered that in addition to being an author he is also host of a radio talk show, which explains a lot about this audio book. It is done in segments that include humor, political issues and haranguing. I agreed with much of what he said, disagreed with some and found some of the humor amusing. He could have used a good editor because we usually ?got the point? long before he finished talking about it. My biggest objection to this audio version was the manner in which he narrated, especially when he was talking about the political stances of people with whom he disagreed. He tended to use a derisive and often downright nasty tone of voice in these instances which I did not find amusing and I felt demeaned his presentation, even when I agreed with the point he was making. This audio book illustrates what my husband and I consider to be one of the biggest problems we have in the United States now. Political debate has been reduced to the level of trying to smear your opponent rather than each side trying to present a reasoned argument to support its view point on an issue.Bottom line: He had some interesting things to say about current issues and raised questions that should be considered and discussed from both sides. The impact of his political message, in our opinion, was often lessened by the demeaning style of delivery.
