Two people find each other and discover the meaning of life and love. A very beautifully written story. I cried and smiled listening to the story.

Moving, touching story about two people who had more than their fair share of hardship find each other in a chance meeting. The characters are beautifully drawn and the details of the setting are vivid and engrossing. Really enjoyed this story and its resolution.

A great story teller – Evans always brings a novel to life. As the Christmas season approaches Mark has to drop out of college due to finances and has just learned his mother has died and on one snowy night in November when he car dies, he stumbles upon a girl Macy who has had a horrible childhood and living with a lady who took her in. She has little memory of her birth parents and a horrible adopted family. Her one hope is to find her sister “Noel” as they were separated when they were children and kept apart by the system. Macy and Mark are meant for each other and fate has something in motion, as when one door closes, God places someone there for you. An amazing story – loved it!!!

This is the Evans I am used to--an uplifting (ultimately) Christmas story with just a hint of sorrow to keep it going. Fictional junk food, but Evans at least completes this short novel in one book, so that is an improvement on The Walk.

Excellent read. This is the first book I have read in one sitting. I couldn't put it down until I finished.

If you like Richard Paul Evans (who writes a lot of Christmas books) or sentimental stories, you’ll like this one. I thought it was okay, but a little sappy. I picked it up at the local library for this challenge because the Noel in the title is the middle name of a character, and one of Breathless’ daughters has the same middle name (although she was not born on Christmas Day as the story character was). Some little things bothered me about the story. I worry about 21-year-olds (the male and female protagonists) who fall in love and plan to marry after knowing each other less than two months. It also bugs me when homes are decorated for Christmas well before Thanksgiving, as is the case for the female protagonist and her roommate. Isn’t it bad enough that the retail and commercial world have Christmas decorations up the day after Halloween? The storyline itself is predictable (Noel is found), although, to its credit, the plot does have a surprise twist near the end.

Very good book. It had good characters and a great plot. The story kept moving and we learned more about each one of them in each chapter. Great Ending and kept me wanting more

A must read around Christmas. I didn't care for it at first but fell in love with it near the middle.
