About this audiobook
If God is in control of everything, can Christians sit back and not bother to evangelize? Or does active evangelism imply that God is not really sovereign at all? // J.I. Packer shows in this classic study how both of these attitudes are false. In a careful review of the biblical evidence, he shows how a right understanding of God's sovereignty is not so much a barrier to evangelism as an incentive and powerful support for it. // J. I. Packer is author of the best selling Christian classic Knowing God. He is Board of Governors Professor of Theology at Regent College in Vancouver.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The first appeal to a universal acceptance of God's sovereignty at the outset is excellent! The application at the end is relevant and timely.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great book!! Packer demonstrates that evangelism is NOT incompatable with Calvinism...in fact, Packer proves that only Calvinists have the grounds for assurance in evangelism!! 8^D
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Helps clarify the relationship between Calvinism and Evangelism in a beautiful way! This book makes it clear how Evangelism is only truly founded when it is based in a strong faith in God’s absolute sovereignty.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5"If God is in control of everything, can Christians sit back and not bother to evangelize? Or does active evangelism imply that God is not really sovereign at all?" These questions Packer aims to answer in this study as two wrong responses to divine sovereignty, but I find the volume valuable even outside the scope of their implications—a good examination of the nature of and impetus for evangelism in general. I recommend it.
