Colours improve your biorhythm

“We are emerging from years of minimalism with regards to the use of colour into an era of polychromy. Colours are back because today, thanks to modern technology, we can have all the colour and imagination we want”, explains Silvia Botti, co-author with Massimo Caiazzo of the book Abitare i colori (Living with colour), which opens the new and broader Books column, just one of the changes made to the magazine as part of its latest restyling that we hope our readers will like. “Colours help us to feel better in the spaces we live in and affect our biorhythm, but can also have negative effects, so they must be chosen with caution”, adds the renowned journalist. Anna Giustolisi, known as the “architect of colour”, agrees with this sentiment and uses green, which symbolises balance and harmony, to modernise a historic Sicilian home. According to English interior decorator Patricia Guild in her book La couleur dans la décoration, “Colour is the most striking element of decoration”, but it is imperative to understand the language.
