    Flat foils

    Te Rehutai’s foils were smaller and had a minimal dihedral (downward slope) which meant that the lower part of the foil arm was deeper. This provided a longer and more efficient vertical part of the foil when in the water, similar in effect to having a deeper daggerboard.
