What I’m Bingeing: Nashville

ABC DRAMA

This addicting 2012–18 series from screenwriter Callie Khouri initially drew me in because of star Hayden) But I was quickly hooked by its mix of heart, drama and music. Led by Panettiere and the sensational Connie Britton (far left, with Panettiere), playing a young upstart and an established star, respectively, the soapy series follows artists trying to make it in the cutthroat industry of country music. As they navigate the chaos of their lives—abusive parents, ex-lovers, the perils of fame—they pour their emotional turmoil into music, producing toe-tapping tunes that will have you ready to download the show’s soundtracks. Keep an ear out for Panettiere and Britton’s showstopping duet “Wrong Song.” Trust us: It’s so right.
