After being made redundant from her pet shop role, Kent-based Louise Foster now works as a customer service assistant for Wickes. She has two horses, Shiloh and Lady, and volunteers with the RNLI.

My job…

I work as a customer service assistant for Wickes in Sittingbourne, Kent. My main duties include organising stock, picking click and collect orders and, most importantly, helping customers with queries and offering assistance with their purchases. I’m contracted for 21 hours a week, but I’m there for anything between three to five days, depending on when overtime is available.

I started the role in May after being let go from my previous full-time job as a pet and aquatics assistant at Submarine Aquatics at Johnsons Garden Centre due to not
