While we’re all rearing to break out and explore our beautiful country and the world after months in lockdown, we need to be confident we won’t be exposing ourselves and our loved ones to Covid-19 along the way.

A Matter Of Trust

“It’s great that we’re open for travel, but the pandemic is still here, and will remain until a reliable and safe vaccine is available on a mass scale to protect everyone,” says Tshifhiwa Tshivhengwa, CEO of the Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA). “Trust is the new currency in the travel industry – trust that when guests visit an attraction, establishment or restaurant, we’ve done what we can to prevent the spread of the virus, so we can avoid a second wave and not be a contributor.”

Lee Zama, CEO of the Federated Hospitality Association of Southern Africa (FEDHASA) is confident they’re on track. “The industry has developed safety protocols to limit the spread of Covid-19 in our operations, and we believe we’re travel-ready to receive guests.” Protocols range from staff regularly washing and sanitising their hands,wearing masks,socialdistancing, and staying home and getting tested
