INTRODUCTIONS

The Fiction Desk is inviting international general submissions as well as submissions on two different themes. The annual Ghost Story Submission call is for fiction with a supernatural slant between 1,000 and 20,000 words. The Stories About Music submission call is for stories inspired by or themed around any kind of music, between 1,000 and 20,000 words, and the general submission call is for stories in any style and on any theme or subject. All stories should be original and unpublished. The Fiction Desk pays £20 per 1,000 words. The closing date to submit for all three calls is 31 January.

Bad Betty Press has a call for submissions from Black, Brown and Asian poets with a full poetry collection or pamphlet manuscript (30-60 poems for a collection, 10-25 for a pamphlet). Poems may be on any subject or theme, and the call is open to unpublished poets as well as those with a history of publication. Poets are asked to submit only if they have a complete manuscript. Send ten pages of poetry. Successful manuscripts will be published in 2022. The closing date is 31 January.
