How many times has Martha Argerich recorded Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No 2? I am not sure I have the energy to trawl the catalogue to find the answer, but I’m guessing it must be about a gazillion. And now – in honour of ever-present 250th anniversary – here comes another version. But perhaps there’s another reason, too: for although the conductor here is Argerich’s long-time friend and collaborator Seiji Ozawa (leading the hand-picked Japanese, really.
