THERE’S LIFE IN THE OLD GIRL YET

Ian and Tina McHarg’s Mark II Ford Zephyr is named after a Hollywood diva. But, as ‘Elizabeth Taylor’ emerged from her trailer (workshop) after an extensive makeover, the car proved a little temperamental, just like her namesake screen goddess.

Coughing like a heavy smoker, the minor hold-up turned out to be a simple case of a geriatric carburettor gasping for breath — a suitably period ailment.

Owners Ian and Tina live in Cambridge. Ian works in Hamilton as a commercial property broker. The association with the Ford Mark II came from his family.
